STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

"So, they doubt me so much that they sent you to babysit me," Rianna says, flatly, feeling hurt and betrayed. "Even Myraline still trusts me so little, even though it was she who pushed me to take the Trials..."

"Not babysit, merely protect," Vera-Kin says, observing Rianna's hurt and seeking to ease it, realizing that if Rianna took from this that nobody had faith in her that it could be damaging in the long run. "From Rand and from yourself. You are a strong young woman, Rianna, and I do not doubt your resolve. But this was more dangerous for you than anyone else. They had to be sure you would be safe in undertaking it.

"Myraline trusts you. She just worries."

Rianna simply shrugs, not really believing that at all, but not feeling like trying to argue the point any longer.

"Anyway. Do you have any plans for what to do next? I haven't exactly been in a position to think of anything..." she says. "How long has it been since the riots started, anyway?"

Vera-Kin realizes that this is not even close to resolved in Rianna's mind, but that focusing on the next step will help her maintain herself. She sighs nonetheless, perhaps thinking that Myraline's paranoia has only caused further problems than results.

"There is only one further step that I can imagine at this point," Vera-Kin says. "We know what Rand wants overall... so we can't let him have it. Astrune is going to give us the Box or we are going to take it from her. With General Hirget dead and Major Bradox more than willing to let us do so as long as it stops worse tragedies, I say we do it quickly, now that we've rested."

"I still suspect that she is actually working with Rand, somehow," Rianna replies. "But if we have it, Rand will be forced to come to us."

"Precisely. If she is, which I suspect as well, then we can bring her to justice too."

"Oh, yes. The sooner we do this, the better, I feel."

Rianna doesn't mention that she plans on reclaiming her lightsaber while they're there. It belongs to her and she's getting it back, damnit.

Vera-Kin was actually thinking that that was what we'd do to arm Rianna again!

Yay 😄

Rianna's ready to head straight over there soon as Vera-Kin is, so yeah.

If there are no other preparations that need be made, we will proceed with Vera-Kin and Rianna driving a landspeeder over to Dame Astrune's for one last encounter...

I've got nothing in particular I want to do beforehand.

Vera wants to try getting Barker and Colby to assist us with Astrune. I am expecting a fight.

Probably a good idea. I'll be more surprised if some sort of fight doesn't break out.

Going in violent! Barker does not need to be asked twice; he is eager to put that infamous Wookiee strength to the test, with his shotgun as back-up. Colby, however... will need some prompting. He has locked himself in the cockpit of Viloc to avoid you Jedi types after the spaz out that Rianna exhibited in her sleep.

"Go away!" he shouts when you try talking to him.

"We could use your help with this, and the sooner this is taken care of, the sooner we can leave this planet," Rianna says, though she doesn't exactly blame him...

"Can't you handle it yourselves?" he asks, annoyed. "You're superhuman and you have a Wookiee with you, what could go wrong?"

"In my experience? Anything," Rianna says, sighing. "And there are things you're good with that we aren't. If you helped, it would be greatly appreciated."

"It is a matter of quantity and quality. The more skilled fighters we have when we go in, the better we will fair. I promise to protect you, Colby, to the best of my ability. If you do not trust Rianna, at least find it within yourself trust in me."

("No offense," Vera-Kin says to Rianna, quietly, so that Colby doesn't hear. "You did try to stab him in your sleep."😉

Since Rianna has no Persuade skill, I will go with Vera-Kin's effort. Presence helps her here by getting her the extra dice she needs, and she rolls well.

Colby unlocks the cockpit door and comes out.

"We can leave this place after this?" Colby asks. "I don't have to do anything else?"

"Hopefully, yes," Rianna replies, deciding to completely ignore the quiet comment Vera-Kin made to her. "This should be the last thing we need your help with, at any rate."
