Then here is the situation as it stands. The Guardians have you surrounded, having crept down the columns with impressive athleticism and positioned themselves thusly. They have returned to their simple sandals and togas, brandishing nothing but their fists and their bulky physique.

Rianna and Vera-Kin get initiative due to their Intuition, but Barker and Colby are surprised and must go after the Astrunians.

ASTRUNIAN AMBUSH, Start of Turn 1

Vera-Kin snaps on her lightsaber as the Guardians reveal themselves.

"Stick together!" Vera-Kin says, and she flips over toward a Guardian coming from behind before it can go for Colby, stabbing upward into its stomach, before turning and cutting through another's kneecaps, also before it can go for Colby.

Rianna will also go for one of the guardians behind them, snapping out with a low kick intended to trip him up.

The Jedi leap into action! And very quickly find that their opponents are better trained than they thought. Vera-Kin's already minimized pool is further reduced by the Guardian's Defense of 1, so she only stabs her first target. Rianna has an even worse time as she discovers that hitting these guys is like kicking stone; Unbreakable gives them +2 Armor and makes them harder to put down.

The Guardians respond! Vera-Kin remains largely elusive thanks to her Armor and Parry, and Rianna's sidestepping keeps her in good shape, but they hit hard- Street Fighter is at work. Barker and Colby struggle for a second before firing back; they blast down their attackers since Unbreakable doesn't work against blasters.

Guardians on the right and left keep you boxed in whilst those ahead took their turn moving into the fray. Keep it up!

Rianna glares at the guardians, before continuing to press her attack, punching at the one that's at 2 damage.

Vera-Kin flips back to handle the Guardians that come in from ahead, swiping her lightsaber. She may not be taking them out quickly, but she is lasting.

Initiative to you!

Rianna tangles with the Guardian and this time punches him somewhere vital. He crumples, but it took five successes to down him barehanded. Vera-Kin cuts one down, Colby wounds one with his pistols and Barker finishes him by breaking his shotgun over the Guardian's head.

Guardians hit back, rolling well against Vera-Kin and Rianna despite their evasive styles, but Colby and Barker keep their footing; Colby seems to have a knack for fighting in close quarters, and Barker is an unstoppable mass of muscle to begin with.

Vera-Kin is going to tap Balanced Guard this turn, not using Block, and she keeps at the Guardians with her lightsaber.

Rianna keeps up her offense, snapping a kick at one of the guardians behind.

Initiative is yours again.

Vera-Kin turns around and lops off a Guardian's arm as his punch comes in, then cuts through another's torso in the same sweep of her blade after rolling eight successes on nine dice instead of a wimpy two. Rianna snaps her kick into another Guardian but falls just one short of taking him out; he staggers back, but stays up. Barker decides to pick him up and toss him through the air like a ragdoll, though, and Colby promptly unloads into the last Guardian from that cluster.

Ten attackers on four targets! Three apiece for the Jedi. Rianna repels one attacker but takes hits from two more. Vera-Kin, on the other hand, taps out Balanced Guard and so slips past three hits without much trouble. Colby is missed and Barker does not even react to being kicked in the back.

Rianna is going to go to the left, attacking one of the guardians there.

Tap Feint, swap it for Focussed Blow.

Or would she be able to break away and get close enough to get her lightsaber back? She's really not making a huge difference in this fight, but once she's properly armed again will be able to make quick work of the remainders.

Breaking away is possible! The way onward is clear.

Then break away Rianna shall!

Vera-Kin swaps Balanced Guard for Orthodox and gets Block active again, while throwing herself at two more Guardians on the left.

I'm guessing they aren't a turn's distance since they attacked us...

Actually... since Rianna is in close combat, her attackers will get a bonus round of attacks on her if she breaks away, regardless of whether or not she gets initiative. Anything you want to do to counter that?

And indeed, they're all up in there with you, Vera.

Tap Sidestep.

Initiative goes to the Guardians this time! Same attackers as before keep after their targets. Rianna taps Sidestep and makes a mockery of incoming strikes, too agile to hit and snapping away their fists with counter-kicks. Vera's combination of raised Defense and Parry sees her only hit once. Colby and Barker fair well.

Your turn! Vera-Kin only cuts down one Guardian this time. Colby blasts one down and the Wookiee breaks a Guardian's back by flinging him into a pillar. Rianna breaks away and surprisingly takes a hit from a particularly determined Guardian!

The left is going for Vera-Kin whilst Barker tackles the right, Colby standing his ground betwixt the two of you.

Rianna- you are heading down the cooridor, toward the exhibits and display cases where not only your lightsaber resides but also where the Box should be. All appears to be clear!

Rianna keeps going, keeping her senses open to try and make sure she's not going to be ambushed or walk into a trap.

Vera-Kin uses the Force to knock a Guardian back into another, then flips about to drive her lightsaber into the pair of Guardians, tapping Orthodox Guard to intensify her spinning blow and take them down. Block inactive.

Initiative goes back to you this time. Vera-Kin makes a total mockery of her opponents by tapping Orthodox Guard and rolls successes on every single dice in her pool. She runs her men through with little difficulty, and before the last Guardian on her side of the great hall can respond, Colby shoots him dead.

Barker fails to kill his target right away but taps Unbreakable to unflinchingly take hits and keep them off of you and Colby. You then wrap things up by coming to his rescue, leaving a pile of dismembered Guardians laying about you.

Rianna- you reach the exhibits, racing straight for the podium with your lightsaber.
