LOTR RP Game part 1- Journey to Fornost

Started by Dexx79 pages

After tending some wounded as best he can without any resources, Vardalain approaches the new arrived elf and asks her about the herbs he needs in order to treat the others
(i'll let ush to tell if she has them or not, for i really don't know the names, aniica 😄)

Master Zeratul,I am wounded, tired and I really don't like that tone. But I'll come and show you everything I know.Maybe the clothes are a clue.Or the kind of sword.....

I have a ridiculously detailed list of LOTR herbs and what they do, but I am not mined to bore you with it all. I would happily say that between Aranui foraging outside for an hour, and what Vardalain and and Aniica have between them, you can happily treat the players and the other wounded of the camp- and grateful they are, also.

(And I will just move things on here...)

When those of you from Gondor look at the dead man's body, you get a shock. This man is a royal Gondorian Courier, sent by the King himself. Almost certainly with vital dispatches for your ambassador at Fornost, for only vital messages are sent between the two Kingdoms.

But whatever the message was, it has been cut from his dispatch pouch. Whoever killed him took it. And it was no orc that killed him, for it was not an orcish blade that stabbed him in the back- nor would a courier such as this let an orc sneak up behind him so.

k, I will read through things, but could I get a brief description on where we are now?

Same place as you left it.

vardalain does his best in tending the woundeds, using some of aniica's herbs also.

Palanfirith get's a little better with his leg.He is very concern of that message. If somebody took it he could be still here.He couldn't run with the orcs comming.
We should search the camp for clues....

so we've got a dead gondorian and some wounded fellas

(idd mah)
"Master Elf I apologize, but I do not trust this place nor it's ppl and we do not have the time to linger, and we are all tired from battle. I think we should get a move on as fast as possible": says I to Palanfirith in sindarin

(Palanfirith, the half-freak is speaking to you in Sindarin! He'll be trying Quenya next!)

Anglomir and William just hear a load of gibberish. Aranui does not really understand but knows it is Elven.

What you have, Mah, is a disaster in the making, with the interception of this courier.

Vardalain approaches, seeing concerned faces.

Talin understands very little of the Sindarin language. "It's something about tired, right?" he guesses.

His wound has been patched and does not hurt much after having a smoke on his pipe and using Aniica's herbs.

(I hate to take issue, Rex, but actually you understand Sindarin well enough to know what was said- not only do Dwarves tend to know Sindarin anyway, you specified you were a good friend of Elves)

(BTW, Elves almost never learn Dwarven. Something that dates all the way back to the First Age. Dwarves like Elven things but rarely vice versa...)

You could have done with a few more cracks at those orcs, Talin. Weak things, mostly, though vicious and well trained in war, like all orcs. Their leader would have been like a slave driver, a veteran orc of better stock assigned to lead them around in their ravaging of this area.

Still, they seem to be working to a plan. You wonder how they knew of the existence of this courier. Orcs can be intelligent in their own way but rarely minded for this sort of thing. They were taking orders as part of something bigger, which intrigues you. If for no other reason that you would like to smash some evil plot...

And during this time of treatment, Ryu can turn up at the encampment. Like Aniica, he has on close observation of enemy movements through Rhudaur on behalf of his people, and wanting to get a better measure of whether Arthedain will intervene by journeying to Fornost. He espied this orc band travelling to and attacking this place, and now may talk to those within...

Aniica helps the wounded. She looks around for her hawk. Garisal lands on a branch beside and gives Aniica a pouch of herbs and flies off.

William angrily throws rocks at dead orcs. "Whatever they came here for, they probably achieved their goal. And now Kumar is dead! This encampment has no body to lead their armed men!"

(that really isn'y our concern..)
Master Zeratul,do you think we should leave or search for the message? It has to be here. The criminal couldn't leave near the orcs.He has to be here somewere.... says to Zeratul in sindarin but also looks to the others who understand sindarin.

"oh, i'm sure that commotion was enough to get away after this. He'd be long gone by now." says VArdalain approaching

Can't be THAT long gone. Whoever took it can't fly. He'll be on foot (because whoever it was could hardly have snuck out on horseback).

"The Courier had a message, and an important message surely. If nothing is done it will never reach it's destination. We have to find the murderer, and I must get the message and deliver it. Whoever the murderer was, he's no longer here, thus someone must be missing from the camp, and not by dying. It should be possible to find out who quickly."

"It is indeed possible that it was someone from the camp, tho I still believe the enemy has many skilled warriors who are able to do such a thing"
