LOTR RP Game part 1- Journey to Fornost

Palanfirith- you see something, approaching from the rear... a large, hulking Orc wielding a ball and chain, growling as he slowly approaches the lines...

For some of you this is the first time you have been such a melee. What were disciplined lines just a moment ago break and mix and merge. Some javelins are still flying, now aimed at the caravans and those around there.

There is a problem where the lines for the front and side road overlap- the reach of the Orcs spears there now mean their two attacks can support each other there. A man is pierced clean through, the orc who thrusted snarling in triumph, and it seems the lines may collapse in that corner.

Anglomir holds his strong, thick shield in front of him, the shield taking blows for him. He bashes an Orc with his shielld, sending the Orc back into a spear. He then slashes with his sword, wounding an Orc.

"This is madness!" the warrior says as a javelin hits his shield.

so..am i up there?

(Once you are up there, I dare you to jump onto the bed of spikes the Orcs are holding...) 😄

(well....it's your ass too my arrows are on the side of 🙂)

Near Anglomir and Aranui, Farael is trying to fight his way through to the corner of the lines where the Orcs are breaking through. His warhammer arcs through the air and slams down on the skull of an orc. The reverse side of the warhammer is a viciously sharp silver-coloured spike, which he then drives backwards into an orc behind him, but there are too many in his way.

The Chiorc strides firmly towards the rear lines. He is back up to his full compliment of four chain-mailed bodyguards, who draw their curved swords in unison.

Another man is speared at the corner of the front and side lines. Soon there will be a hole there.

Dexx, you just got up.

Aranui moves toward where Farael is struggling, always aware of foes around him.

Talin fights his way to the place where the front lines and side lines meet. He hacks and hacks at Orcs. He kills one by splitting its skull, and kills another by slashing open its belly with his axe.

Talin, there are orc spears ALL around you. This is a problem- wit the rocs from the two different lines crossing their spears over it is almost impossible to get close to oen without being stabbed in the back!

The Chiorc brazenly announces its presence on the field with a spin of its ball and chain. A man defending the rear has is head smashed open.

Mah, a strong, spear-wielding orc sees you trying to get through. It snarls and blocks your way with its spear.

(Situation at lines:

Front Line: 7 men, 3 archers
Side Line: 6 men, 2 archers
Rear line: 8 men, 3 archers
Centre: 10 men, 3 archers

Orc death count: About twenty. A 2-1 ratio- in general that would give victory but with crumbling lines at the front and the Chiorc getting to work at the back this will quickly change.)

There are also now sporadic orc figures appearing up at the top of the slopes, wielding javelins to throw down into the melee.

(Oh great)

(Anyway I could get close to the Chiorc without getting my ass whooped?)

vardalain opens fire upon chiorc's bodyguards.

Your main problem, Talin, is that the Chiorc is at the rear of the lines. You may break off and change over if you wish but it will take some while.

You do technically have three players at the rear.

Aranui uses his sword to try and cut the orcs spear on the middle.

Palanfirith,as he is in the rear,he starts shooting at Chiorc. But still he is focused on the spears.Chiorc must fall....

umm..vardalain keeps firing upon chiorc's bodyguards.

It is SO darn difficult to get a clear shot at a distinctive target, Palanfirith...

Vardalain, your first shot is a miss. The bodyguard does not flinch as the arrow whistles past it ear. They are now throwing themselves into the melee, and another man at the rear lines is cut down.

Aranui, your sword CLANGS loudly at the middle of the spear. The spears are metal-shafted- these people are better equipped than the ones you fought before... the orc jerks his spear back. The head catches your sword and it is about to be pulled out of your hand.

fin shoots arrows at the nearest (and, hopefully, the easiest) targets.

(as a side question, is it at all possible for me to cast a spell which would make the ground muddy n' more difficult for the incoming chiorc to trudge thru?)

I keep shooting at the Chiorc but also I'm careful at the spears and at the incoming orcs(if there are any)

Seeing the bodyguards engaging in battle, vardalain thinks that chiorc is a little less protected. He sets him as a target and opens fire again.

(That spell might effect us all, Narcil. Good idea though. Let's see what Ush says)

Talin continues to swing his axe through the Orcs as he makes his way towards the Chiorc.

(Hey Ush, I have a question. Will there be a form of dueling for this game?)
