Ok, anyone who has not declared position is in the middle with the caravan.
You take your positions. It is important to note that Farael has not parked the caravans in the middle of the three approaches. He has stopped before the side road, which comes in at a diagonal angle in front. So if the Orcs break through there they will get onto the main road in front of the caravan.
Farael's men defending the side road are at a right angle to those defending the front appraoch, so they form half a square. So those of you at the side and those of you at the front are very close and can switch positions easily. Those of you covering the back are further away. Farael is taking station at the front for now. His men are in smart chain armour, carrying good quality swords and large metal shields.
Vardalain, you take a shot at the approaching crowd. Farael tells his archers to let loose whenever they like as well. The orcs barely seem to notice the arrows flying into their lines, though one or two fall.
50 metres from you at all points the smallest orcs run forwards from their lines, and throw a hail of javelins- ten twoards each area. They fly through the air, seemingly in slow motion. The Arnorians raise their shields high...
(I think returning fire with magic is out of the question until you guys are a lot more experienced- and remember, how many fireballs does even Gandalf let loose?)
The javelins land all around. You can hear men screaming as some are hit. But that nosie is drowned out a moment later by a fearul screaming from the orcs, as the larger ones charge past their javelin throwing friends and sprint down the distance between the lines in no time at all, their spears outstretched. Within seconds the lines clash and a fierce melee begins...
A bit of a Legolas-close-range shot to actually be able to fire through the lines, Palanfirith... you see an Orc fall but watch it, those spears might just get you.
The Orcs are throwing themsleves wildly into the fray. Aranui, a spear comes within inches of your face.
Vardalain, a good shot seems very hard. Farael has two bowmen standing atop the caravans, where they have a better view of it all.
