Nah, man. Maybe it sounds like hate to a few people, but I don't really care. I don't sweat the origins of characters powers mainly because they have to come from somewhere. Otherwise, only aliens, mutants, and extradimensional beings would have powers.

I do, however, tend to nitpick the range of what these characters are capable of with these powers (or lack thereof)... and I have a hell of a time believing any character without superhuman strength can damage one with higher-end durability. I don't think Batman, Daredevil, Cap, or any other peak human should even faze guys like Solomon Grundy, Lobo, Rhino, etc. with any sort of strike or hold. Do they still have a chance to win? Sure, but it won't be by going toe-to-toe, and would likely involve weaponry and/or using their surroundings to their advantage.

Anyhow, that's how I see things. If it's happened in comics more than a handful of times, great. But if it's going to be that way, then I think other streets should be able to accomplish the same if given the opportunity. I don't want to derail the thread further though.

Don't know what else to tell you, Cresh. I gave my outlook on the matter, and I just don't think skillful fighting enough to overcome high-end durability. It's not an idea that I apply only to threads involving Batman.

No, but I do question some of the on-panel feats. Street-levelers punching out bricks who otherwise go punch-for-punch with other top-tiers and occasionally laugh it off is something I tend to question. Yeah, it's a comic, so real world dynamics don't always apply... but why wouldn't other characters who are at or near the level of Batman or Captain America (both have tons of feats knocking around bricks) be able to do the same? I think if it's going to be accepted, it should be accepted across the board for all streets, and not just because it's Batman (or Cap, or Daredevil, or Wolverine, etc).

So despite it happeniong all the time you can't accept it because its unrelaistic, even though characters origin stories only happen once?

Hey, it is what it is. I still don't agree with it. If my top 3 comic characters had a string of victories over top-tiers, cosmics, and characters whose powersets should at least in theory make their best efforts futile, I'd still disagree with them.

Well It's my opinion that 35 + 14 = 16,345. So if I have $35 in a bank account and add $14 then its my opinion that I should have 16,345 in there after the transaction. So since my opinion dictates reality and the way things should work. I should be able to buy a new tv and a new video game system and pretty much whatever I want. Since I think that 35+14=16,345.

who cares whats been firmly established by both the banks and the rest of the world, right?

Numbers should add up to whatever I want. just like characters shouldn't do what you think they should.

Despite both cases going contrary to both banks or the forum, as well ad the rest of the world or the comics.

i dont know how you all think batman would loose, they are both human with suits on. batman is however the one with the better suit and skills. Rhino suit just makes him stronger and more durable. Batman is the smarter of the two by a long shot. The truth is rhino probabley doesnt even know his times tables. Anybody doubting batman doesnt know who he is.
