^ Well looks like Dinosaurs are more popular than ever. More popular than superheroes even. Certainly more popular than Godzilla and King Kong.Noticed one thing they still haven't done in any of the JP films:
Spoiler:
have a dinosaur eat a kidBut I guess that would be too disturbing for people.
JP2 :
Spoiler:
The compys eat a little girl in the beginning.

They need to
Spoiler:That would begin a huge controversy about the ethics of what they're doing.
resurrect a Neanderthal.
Saw the film. Entertaining.
7 out of 10.
Indominus rex was disappointing in appearance. It didn't look very scary. The T-Rex is scarier looking. I know, childish, but I want a super-mutant hybrid dinosaur to be scarier looking.
Music was not as good. Included the old stuff but did not have the satisfactory feeling of the first JP film. Can't beat John Williams.
Michael Giacchino was good, however. Just not great.
I guess I wasn't wowed by the movie. None of the characters stood out. The dialogue wasn't that great. Plot wasn't that great.
Bryce Howards is hot, though. So, yeah, there's that.
There were a few cinematographic sequences that were pretty damn good. Like, really good. But it was generally generic stuff.
VFX were great but not stupendous.
Sound editing was great but not excellent.
Colors, lighting, bla bla. I felt that the colors were a bit faded. Seemed washed out. Colors needed to be more vibrant, imo. Not sure how you can f*ck up coloring in a South American Jungle but they did it. It's okay to do something like this in "The Matrix" because, you know, it was supposed to be a fake computer world so the green fade was alright (and when they got to scenes in the real world, it was no longer "green-washed but still dark and bland"😉. Why do that to a creature flick that is set in the jungle?
Dino designs were decent but I wanted to see improvements based on what we know after 22 years of paleontological advancement. For example, raptors look different, colorings different, etc. So it gets a neg in the fauna score.
None of the characters were relate-able. And the "Owen is a badass" was forced too hard on the viewer.
I am just saying what I mostly disliked about this film.
Someone put it properly, earlier: great popcorn flick. Well, not a great popcorn flick: EXCELLENT popcorn flick. 🙂
I felt they made Chris Pratt the right kind of badass for this film. Glad they didn't make him as over the top as I thought they might, but at the same time I definitely understand those who felt his character's badassery was too forced..
The characters not being relatable and stuff though? You could easily say that about the ones of the first film too, not that they're the top reason we see these dinosaur movies to begin with. Just don't have human characters as insufferable as most of the ones in JP2 and 3 and I'm usually fine.

Was that T-Rex supposed to be the same T-Rex from the original, just 20ish years older?Last scene we see, it has what looks like old scars running down it's neck/shoulder area, possibly from when the second raptor jumped on its back and clawed away at the end of the first film.
JW beat Avengers by 5 million.
Total was 209 million.
Never thought I would see this happen.

Fuck. Yes. Fuck yes. This makes me glad. But was it really by 5 million? Boxoffice.com says the following...
Jurassic World - $208,806,270 OW
The Avengers - $207,438,708 OW
That's a difference of $1,367,562.
