Siege: Invasion of Asgard [ Disscssion Thread]

I believe that Thor when he fights Sentry will go Warrior Madness if he does literally all Hell will break lose, plus Thor has excess to the OdinForce via through hammer, Sentry could be screwed, we will see though.

One thing is for sure Osborn is so f**k'ed, can you imagine Steve, Bucky, Tony taking turns on his kicking his a$$, man I would pay serious money to see that.

Stupid question, but... has anybody read Marvel's official synopsis for Siege #3? According to them something BIG is gonna happen. Think it's just clever marking BS?

"What happens next is so epic, so historic, that it changes the entire dynamic of the Marvel Universe."

^ WTF??! That's a pretty heavy claim... honestly I didn't think the aftermath of this series was going to be all that important.

I swear... if they kill off Thor.

Nah - Ares has already been killed off (for now.) Thor has an ongoing series, and a movie coming.

Maybe it's the appearance of Marvelman, at last. There have been conspiracy whispers about he & Sentry possibly being connected.

Meh... they claim that everything is going to change the marvel universe irreversibly.

👆

What you've got to remember is that "epic" and "historic" could pertain to how it affects the characters, not the fans.

If it's changing THEIR lives, it doesn't matter if we aren't blown away by it. The marketing would be correct.

I'm guessing that Phobos will be the one to take down the Sentry for good. Considering how scared the Sentry is of the Void and himself, it seems fitting that the god of fear would be the one to defeat him.

Either way though, the Sentry needs to die by the end of this.

I was thinking the same thing. The death of his father really sets this up. And they seem to be drawing attention to the fact that Fury didn't want Phobos to go to war.

Yeah, Sentry needs to die.

Like to know what the Classified thing is for April for all the titles coming out for this event

its on the back of the Siege promo thing.

More claims from Marvel that Siege is gonna rock the MU.

^Read the first question and it's answer.

Maybe Siege will be an event with massive consequences... who knows?

People often confuse claims that it'll rock the Marvel Universe with: "It'll rock the actual, real universe.".

Most of those hype pieces pertain to the characters. Siege has undoubtedly affected the likes of Phobos forever.

I seriously hope he doesn't.

I would love it if this lead to some kind of pantheon Rapture afterwords ... were the Asgardians and the Olympians decided to retake human destiny, out of the hands of humans. Maybe a Some kind of Divine coup, of America. I seriously doubt it though.

I would also love Sentry to be some kind of marvel version of the Spectre, i.e. a an Incarnate version of the TOAA's wrath. Then he could be catalyst of a Holy war between the Mythological Gods and the Classical Theistic god - a Marvel version of paradise lost. Maybe instigated by Mephitso, helped by Loki.

Marvel couldn't possibly live without their rip off of Superman. It's like asking the Devil to stop doing wickedness.

Except the TOAA isn't a wrathful Judeo-Christian God (or at least, has never been shown or implied to be)

And then if Sentry becomes the 'Spectre of Marvel', you have the Spectre event problem, but on a bigger scale due to the fact that modern marvel events are relatively small and Earth based, with no huge cosmic threats...

He doesn't have to be exactly like Spectre, Im using Spectre in analogous sense. Who to say a creative bit of writing can't get rid of him, so the SPectre problem doesn't have to occur.

In reagrds to your other claim, who cares whats been implied previously ... he doesn't have to be the classical Judeo Christian God, just an analogous version.

And most importantly of all ... Im not a ****ing Writer !!!! Im not prophesying what is going to happen ... what I would like to happen.

Unfortunately we'd never see Marvel's answer to Paradise Lost in the format you described as Marvel has far too much invested in their mythological gods to have them lose in a manner comparable to Milton's epic.

Nice idea, though.

Who said they have to loose .... 😉

They've gotten along fine for decades before Sentry showed up. Thor fills that slot, and their direct analogue (Gladiator) is far away in another galaxy.
But, why have a Marvelman analogue when you've got ownership of the real Marvelman now? 👆
