Spoiler:
So the Norn stones were weaking all the Asgardians, including Thor, in the possession of the Hood? Then strengthening the heroes/Asgardians in the possession of Loki? Then doing nothing at all when Thor did the coup de gras?

Naw, just disappointments.
Spoiler:
what was disappointing?... that was pretty much the only way it could end. having sentry allowing himself to die. and having him die in the end.
Spoiler:
But that wasn't HIM. He was first turned back into Bob when the hellicarier crushed on him because apperantly a tiny nuke >>>>>> sitting in the core of the sun.😬 And got finished by Thor. That's not even retarded. It's.. I have no words to describe that.

Fallen Sun was the biggest pile of crap I've read in a while.

Yup

Fallen Sun sucked, but I was fine with the last issue of Siege.

Spoiler:
He HAD to die or at least be defeated, Thor was the most powerful there, and they HAD to have the others contribute to his downfall to set up their heroic age stuff that's following this. At least he tanked 4-5 epic blasts before going down, and Norn-empowered heroes for a bit. It wasn't any one blast that killed him. So the whining about power levels is, frankly, unnecessary. It was pulled off as believably as it could be. Repeated BL Thor shots should destroy anything south of Skyfather, and he tanked even more than that. It was established that Bob was > any one of them and also a great number of them. Sentry fans have nothing to complain about.

hysterical

I thought Siege (the entire series) and Fallen Sun were both pretty bad.

I bet Loki planned all this, especially due to reading his one-shot

As part of the minority (it seems) of people who has actually enjoyed Siege thus far, I was fairly disappointed by this issue. I understand the necessity of the ending, but I felt it could have been handled better.

The series itself has been driven by nothing but over-the-top action, and when it ends with such a silly deus-ex machina, it's hard not to feel let down. Ah, well. I'll hope for better from the Heroic Age.

On a side note, I thought it might've been a more powerful image if,

Spoiler:
when Bob/Void was asking to be killed, he took on his Sentry form. Would've fit better with the whole selfless sacrifice thing, as it was somewhat odd to see the Void pleading to be killed.

Planing to die?

Planing to die?
It could be very possible considering his one-shot

Spoiler:
He made a deal with Hela, I believe. So he didn't die/isn't dead, and it's likely he planned for all of this to happen.

In his one-shot he made a deal with Hela where if he died he wouldn't go to Hel.

He also didn't seem to upset when Asgard was mostly destroyed when he was watching in the clouds.

Enjoyed the first three issues. 4 was... Well, poor. Bendis yet again fails at the end.

Likes:

Spoiler:
Osborn and Hood getting beaten down and locked up. Steve Rogers as the new top cop. The Avengers back together. Thor's decent showing at the end. Volstagg and Fury getting a lot of print.

Dislikes:

Spoiler:
Semi-cheesy ending. The last issue seemed rushed and empty at the same time...anti-climatic. Half the tie ins were just recaps of the main issue from a different perspective with some minor additional info.

I give the arc a B- grade.

As a whole, I'd give Siege a C+.

Honestly, based on the initial premise, I don't think anyone expected much more than a glorified ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny with the heroes and Stormin' Norman and the gang. Being four issues long, it didn't have time to fully develop into what it could have been. With double that, Siege could have actually turned out to be the blockbuster Marvel intended it to be.

The ending was pretty "meh", in my opinion. And the questions I thought Bendis would answer or at least half ass attempt to, were not.

Spoiler:
Just what exactly is the Void? I can't buy the Angel of Death angle, not from Bob's origins as a junkie drinking a serum in an attempt to get high.
I also despised the Fallen Sun one shot epilogue. It seemed essentially as a final chance to wank the poorly handled character known as
Spoiler:
Sentry
. Had Jenkins been the only one person to deal with him and not hand over the reigns to Bendis, who can't portray consistent character showings to save his life, he might have actually done something worthwhile.

I honestly enjoyed Dark, Mighty, and New Avengers, Thor, and Thunderbolts more so than the actual event itself, which is a bad sign, imo. I do look forward to the new Avengers teams, however, provided we get a break from the events for a while.

To be honest Jake, the fact it was only 4 issues is what kept it from overstaying its welcome for me.

The "New Avengers - Finale" tie-in was actually pretty high level.

i just wish the main issues had decent fights in it. instead of them only being in the tie ins. I mean at the very least better ones for the big ones

I understand that feeling. I think it was smart of Marvel to do a shorter event in light of DC's Blackest Night/Brightest Day. On the other hand, a few more issues could have fleshed out the story as a whole and made the fights more meaningful.
