Siege: Invasion of Asgard [ Disscssion Thread]

i just read siege #4..it was disappointing..the way Sentry die was total crap..they could have done better..

This just shows how a good writer can make a fight scene so much better. Compare how epic THor 600 hundred was to this, its almost comical

Agreed.

Losing JMS was a nasty blow for Marvel and a huge gain for DC, imo. Especially with him penning Superman and Wonder Woman in the near future.

Everyone go get the New Avengers Finale tie-in, it's a good consolation prize for surviving Siege and whatever other tie-ins you were unfortunate enough to read.

Question.

Spoiler:
When Stark asked Thor to move Void to the fields, did it appear that Thor transported Void via Mjolnir?

THE STORY: THE MARVEL BLOCKBUSTER OF THE YEAR!!
This double-sized finale brings the Dark Reign to a shattering conclusion and brings with it the bombastic new HEROIC AGE. Every single page of this book is a shocker: Lives are changed. Heroes fall. Deaths. Revenge. Villain comeuppance. And when the dust settles, who will be in charge of the Marvel Universe?? You will find out here and only here. This is the one they will be talking about. Cardstock Cover/Rated T …$3.99 PRICE: 3.99 IN STORES: May 12, 2010 FORMAT: Comic RATING: Rated T (What's this?)

LOL. Double sized? Isn't that the reason why this book was taking two whole months to be released? The book had a few more pages than it's predecessors.

The problem isn't that there isn't enough issues to this event. Siege one and two were great. Three was enjoyable while four was horrendous. There was so much potential and they blew it. The fight could have been drawn out more with the death of the Sentry being the last page of this book. Everything at the end was really unnecessary to Siege. The ending of the SHRA and Steve Rogers appointment as the government's head honcho should not have been in this book at all. The whole thing seemed rush and the ironic thing is Marvel will more than likely further develop these aftermaths in other books.

It was like I was reading Dragon Ball Z. Evil Piccol...Loki gives the Avengers some Senzu beans...ah Norn Stone power and they're back on their fans again. Then they throw everything at Void and hurts him kinda. Then they lose their power up but Thor manages to hurl more thunderbolts at Void and kept him down till Tony drops a Helicarrier on top of Void and some how that reverts Sentry back to Bob. WTF is this nonesense? The problem here is that the Molecule Man should have dropped a Helicarrier on top of Void while bombarding him with lightning. Instead, MM chose to explode him into thousands of pieces, a much weaker tactic than Helicarrier power. That way would have this nonesense of a character out of the way and Ares would have axed Norman in Siege 2 without interference. And Siege could've been wrapped up in 3 where the heroes show up to deal with the villains and stomp Loki. Still I'll admit, one of the biggest highlight of Siege was Ares brief and sorrow fight with Sentry.

Bendis failed yet again to deliver. I enjoyed his Dark Reign and Dark Avengers. That was glorious. But Siege 4 sucked big time. It just shows how he can't come up with good reasons for the heroes to defeat the Void.

Enjoyed the first three issues. 4 was... Well, poor. Bendis yet again fails at the end.

nah he just get the fight this way IMO. I didn't see any portals or anything. Maybe it was just the artist's way to protray it though

by the way B- grade for me too for the whole ark.
I enjoyed the tie ins, especially Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers.
The main issues were nice too except for #4

Siege #4 was so bad that I just cant allow myself to continue to support Marvel comics. I'm done with them.

Now that's harsh. Want some World War Hulks? 🙂

Marvel can't count. Double sized means twice as much. It had a few more pages added to the normal 22 page format, not 22 more pages.

We told you Sentry was crap but you fell in love with him.

A lot of Sentry fans were excited that he was finally getting respect and good hypes from other people. Now he dies and they give him a very bad funeral.

Story itself had a interesting idea and it was fresh. Too bad it failed to deliver

its like a kid who falls in love with his gold fish or hamster 😆

What was wrong with New Sun one-shot? I enjoyed it.

Siege tie-ins were better than Siege 1-4, 'nuff said.

People may criticize how they handled the defeat of Void. I don't think he's gone for good - how are you supposed to deal with an entity of evil? It will just be for a while....

...He'll resurface with Onslaught one day, I bet. 😛

By the way, Wolverine's been owning Angel of Death since WWI.
