Yea in most cases it does. ✅ Ares being a Olympian, for example, possesses from birth superhuman strength, stamina, speed, reflexes, agility, durability, limited magic abilities, immortality, and a regenerative healing factor.
In his case you can also add in several thousand years of combat training and experience (his being the Olympian personification of War after all) and I say he's more than a match for any street level character. Hell, I'd say that being a god of nearly any type gives most characters a clear advantage over Wolverine.
I mean what you are essentially arguing is that a street level character whose total offensive capacity revolves around six really sharp knives attached to his fists can somehow take down gods with little trouble.

And all of that power that you just named for Ares he just got STOMPED by war machine.
Wolverine as a teen possessed everything that you just named and those six pointy close that you tried to down grade can cut ares head off.

Even Doomsday was said to have super speed according to the Flash.
The problem is that writers tend not to use super speed consistently for a great deal of characters and that can create quite a lot of confusion. One writers has Superman nearly matching the Flash in speed/reflexes and the another has human-speed characters able to hit him. The only easy solution to this that DC has come up with is to claim that the slower villain does in fact have some vague degree of super speed.

What are you talking about? DC didnt upgrade all of there characters of having super speed, thats crazy.
Cheetah, yes, she has a degree of Super speed but she doesnt have anything showing that she even surpass spiderman speed wise. Grundy, I would love for you to prove this. Lobo has one speed feat in the early 90's, his latest showings, people like batman has kept up with him. Titus, no speed feats, he reached his hands out and hit a flash that was circling him, timed his attack. Titus is a regular brick. Despero has nothing, Konvikt has nothing, shaggy man has nothing. All of them are common bricks.
Superman matched a flash that was holding back. We seen what happened when flash took the gloves off in there recent race and hit light speed, he left superman in the dust; Superman had no site of him. The only time superman kept up with flash is when he was sent to bring him back and even then the only speed that was mentioned was 2000mps.
DC speed aint no different than Marvels, its something that dc fans only dream of being true.

1. Decapitation would not kill Ares. Wolverine could only kill him if he dispersed a very large percentage of Ares' molecules like most Marvel gods.
2. Ares did not get stomped by War Machine. If you actually read the comic you'd know that he was trying to goad War Machine into being more violent and not trying to kill or significantly harm him (Ares considers WM to be his earthly champion after all).
3. Wolverine might share some of those powers (certainly not the magic potential) but there is a significant difference in degree. Wolverine has never had anywhere near the strength of Ares. Nor does Wolverine have the same durability as Ares (Ares skin is bulletproof while Wolverine's is not).
4. Wolverine beating gods is only plain and clear to Wolverine fanboys who can't accept that there are some situations where the Canadian is simply out matched.

So basically you are saying that Ares is >>Hulk. Without Hulks accelerated healing factor he would die in almost every fight against Wolverine and the thing about this is ares dont share that same healing factor that hulk has.
Just bc you have the title of a god does not mean you can beat everyone. Wolverine has the tools and the speed to beat ares and he's a much better fighter. Wolverine healing factor is>ares. Wolverine fighting skills is>Ares. Hell, I'll go as far to say that wolverine damage soak is>Ares. The only edge ares have over wolverine is strength and we see how wolverine handles that. Wolverine would curbstomp ares and if ares gets his head cut off by wolverine, he is as good as dead.
