Several male characters cry a lot, too. Natsu and Happy, to name 2.

Grey cried in flashbacks.

Sting cried.

Makarov cries. Didn't even Laxus and Gildartz cry at times?

Hiro's an 'everyone cries' type ^^

I just making an observation on how Hiro likes tearing down the characters he builds to make Erza look even more uber.

So, there really is a crazy-huge amount of these Face things.... what *was* the Council up to?

I had a theory that those face things were just leftovers from a civilization that preceded the humans in the Fairy Tail world. Vestiges of a much more powerful, but extinct, race.

To make it clear how many magical races we are dealing with:

Humans
Demons
Those Cat things
Celestial Spirits
Dragons

That's at least 5 different magical species who are sapient. The existence of a sixth species should not be out of the question even if they are extinct.

So...hmm Minerva got humiliated by Erza again? There goes my plan to get back into this manga.

Haven't been here for a while, FT still is a piss poor manga? I pretty sure it established itself as a crap series way when I was away.

Fairy Tail is pretty good at what it does. It has fast pacing and is pretty consist. Plenty of badass moments, but somewhat popcorn fair compared to Naruto.

That said, I currently rate it about both OP and Bleach ^^

Could someone explain to me what happened this chapter concerning Absolute Zero?

The only time mention I can find is one hour til Face activation.

Well at least Lucy isn't the only one this arc to get beat up senseless.

This, btw, is making Ur look more badass. Sure, she did it when he had a different magic type, but the magic level should be similar and that was in a beefy demon body rather than a human one.
