He's Gray's father, but it seems likely he was demonified ala Minerva (but with less visible effects. Perhaps something else is going on?), and what's with his hatred? Perhaps he dislikes Gray for reasons we don't know, perhaps there's something making him do it hence the Deliora story.
We need to know his history to tell.

If Erza is a true knight then you should be able to write two posts worth of reasons to describe her worth.
I'm fine with Erza. I wish she'd lose more(though given how she is like the super hero of FT alongside Mirajane and Gildartz I know why she doesn't) and I kinda find her fights dull but that's all preference. Not really liking how she likes Jellal but that is an interesting situation and I'm all for anything that is interesting.

Lol Gildarts is a cool mentor guy and I think Hiro uses him just enough so that his scenes are memorable.
Poor Lucy. At least she is pretty. Even if I like Yukino more.

After Laxus Wendy became my 2nd fav. character. She has grown so much from the little shy girl when she was first introduced. She is so cute too and she is now kicking so much ass. Its amazing. I usually hate lolis, but Wendy is supreme loli to me.
And finally...Erza...before she pissed me off.
Grey was originally my favorite character. And I wish Hiro gave him a few powerups in order for him to properly stack up against Natsu. As it stands I think Natsu should really **** him up if they were to fight all out. And I don't want that.

Oh, I can. I like how she's an unflappable badass who gets to shine without shoving out the rest of the cast either. Her social quirks are amusing too, I think outdoing Natsu's and Gray's. I rather like the flexibility of her powerset too- I think the 'put all magic into raw physical ability' is overused, but I like her shuffling of specialist armors.
Erza alone accounts for a very large chunk of why FT has better handling of female characters than most of the other shonen series by a good margin.

What'd she do to piss you off?
I lost any care/relatability for Erza after her fight with Azuma. It was then that I realized that she had gotten boring to me. I just couldn't stand her getting up so many times after Azuma continuously owned her. Then the grand magic games fiasco with Kagura and Minerva rolled in and I just couldn't stand her anymore. I know it is all basic shounen stuff, but meh.
I'm now more tolerant of her, but that was mostly because I took a long break. I still hold her in high regard when compared to most female leads because of how tough she is and I like her eccentricities like the hentai side to her and her silly cake loving side. I guess I just kind of needed a break from her being...her. LoL.
