Holy Shit

Spoiler:
And Juvia shows us how dangerious and OP her element/magic can be. Daaaaamn. About god damn time too.

And it looks like Grey finally got the upgrade I was asking for. Its been a long time coming, but what a way to get it. **** yeah. I think Grey may be Hiro's fav. char lol. His stories are always so well developed.

Yeah I'll say Gray is my favorite of the main team as well. His fights and his little stories are so much fun.

That was pretty brutal... does that mean she could use that attack method on anyone? ^^

---
Of the main team, Grey's job is to handle the dramatic revelations involving personal past.

I don't see why she could not replicate that feat, barring any defenses some people might/could have--too many chars to start thinking about it though. I always thought she was OP as ****, but her joke character made it impossible to take her seriously. Its funny because she didn't really have to come up with some stupid power up/ass pull/Deus Ex machine to do it. She just said "Fuq it!" and went to town. The look on everybody was priceless. If only Grey could have seen her.

Juvia wins...fatality! Though I did think her fight ended rather quickly. Grey getting a power up actually doesn't make me upset: maybe because it wasn't a random BS power up in mid battle but hey...details.

So...Why is Natsu having so much trouble with Tempest. Not that I mind but it just seems weird.

I thought the necromancer was like sand or something so it would be easier to infuse her water into it and then explode out when he solidifies. i would see this as being far more difficult on a human.

Natsu would just turn her to steam. lol

I would also like to note that Juvia noticed that the Necromancer had revived Silver. Even the Necro dude was surprised that she figured that out.

Natsu figured it out a looooong time ago due to Silver's smell. 🙂

I dunno. Might be easier on humans considering how much water is inside of us lol. Who knows though.

Or perhaps he had a skull, he couldn't just keep his mouth closed etc., she could simply pour in through the wide openings.

The way I took it is that he enveloped her in his sand like body. At that point she pretty much seeped into his body and exploded out when he solidified his form, but that's just me.

I think this would be much harder for less malleable bodied people with less absorbent human flesh. I would think enveloping them in water and drowning them would be a better tactic against most everyone else.

I guess it's plausible for Juuvia to enter through a person's nose or something, but I find it highly unlikely unless they do what this necromancer did

Gajeel's new mode is so dumb.

Do you mean the way it looks? if so then I agree. He looks like a human Sonic. lol

The fact that he gets Shadow powers at all. Shadows are not exactly rich in iron. At least lightning produces heat like fire lol.

Yeah I see your point. lol So does this mean that Rogue can do this too? I thought this power stealing was exclusive to Natsu but apparently Gajeel can too.

By the logic presented in this chapter, both Natsu and Gajeel should be able to use lightning, shadow, light, and steel slayer magic right?

Not exactly.

From my observation, Dragon Slayers- at least of 1st and 3rd gen- when developed enough, gain the ability to eat the element of another slayer and impress it on themselves, gaining a double mode.

Gajeel was pretty explicitly trying to copy what Natsu did with Laxus back in the tournament, under the logic of 'if Natsu can, I can.'

Future-Rogue did this with Sting's light as well, remember. Though the fact that even he, despite being stronger than Natsu and older, only has two suggests two's the limit.

What this suggests is that Natsu/Gajeel *could've* gotten any of those elements (they could both be iron/flame dragonslayers, just with different primaries, even!), but once they have two they're probably stuck with those two.

I did forget about rogue.

I feel like Natsu and Gajeel's higher potential would result in them learning more than one.

Maybe eventually, but not something gained easily.

Actually I'd hesitate and speculate the next step could be simply pure raw magic ala etherion or such.

Or, alternatively, a level beyond dragon force- Acnologia is after all just a dragon slayer fully transformed into a dragon!

I wouldn't want natsu to become a dragon. The etherion power would be legit though.

I doubt he'd ever fully transform, save maybe in an epilogue.

I wouldn't think so either.

On another note, I think Lucy could really up her status as a legit threat if she can learn to summon the celestial king without sacrificing one of her Zodiac keys. That kind of a sucky prerequisite.
