Our goal in making the rules and banning certain tactics is to prevent teams from engaging in acts that we feel are close-to-impossible to reasonably counter or amount to instant wins for one team. Basically, we want everyone to have a fair chance in the fights.
Other than that, we want teams to have the freedom to be creative and use unorthodox ideas in their strategies. Trust me, I know exactly how fine a line that can be to walk, but part of the reason for holding a herald level-tournament is to let people use their imaginations and have a little fun with the whole thing (and not regulate the hell out of it).
Batdude and I have tried to make ourselves as available as possible to answer any questions about legal/illegal tactics that teams might have. I don't know what more we can do in that regard.

Also, teams should be aware that the meshing limit is still set at herald level. Simply because you can potentially amp yourselves up to near-skyfather levels, it doesn't mean you should. Obviously this is a subjective matter, but it would better to err on the side of caution here.
