For Green Lanterns, Magic is a weakness only if they are unprepared. Otherwise, mages like Talisman who are heavily reliant on spell casting through the use of summoning spirits will be hard pressed to successfully perform a single one.
Kyle may not be able to identify a spirit right away, but the ring can. Its built in A.I. diverges from vast information gathered thanks to the Guardians.

and k that's nothing like Talisman or how Talisman manipulates spirits. So meh again? Also little easier to trap a ghost when you specifically know its there, and another to trap wind that can cover the entire north and which isn't like a normal spirit 😬 The chair your sitting in when you type on the computer is considered a spirit to Talisman, so would the ring register that as a spirit? No not at all. However, to Talisman EVERYTHING is a spirit and can be used as such and even scanners do not pick up on its a spirit.

How is that nugh ah? Those are facts, it has been stated several times GL's are weak against magic.
Indulge how does one prepare against magic? Especially when the GL have been constantly been affected by magic and spirits that are not like dead beings? Incorrect, ghosts have snuck up on Green Lanterns countless times if their not looking for them. Even the GL that can speak to the dead directly, all the other GL's think he is crazy because they cant see or detect what he does. That's why the Guardian's sent him to locate the Black Lantern. The rings have troubles detecting ghosts, especially when their not looking for them. As noted even by the Guardians themselves have said the rings are scientific in nature and are not ideal going up against supernatural encounters 😬

Ignorance of a character he believes he knows is borderline comical at best. He even admitted earlier he knows nothing of Talisman, yet he is telling me how his powers work and that GL can counter his magic, when they have shown to be weak against magic countless times and frequently struggle to detect ghosts. That's the very definition of a facepalm.

BTW, guys... a bit disappointing piece of your debating strategy. Using Kitty as proof of Onslaught being phasing-proof even though it's well known fact that her phasing is electromagnetically based and magnetic fields screw it since like forever.
J'onn's phasing is either density-control-based or extradimensional "ghosting" (they keep retconning it back and forth). Use someone like Moonstone as example if possible (not tech based characters like Vision or Ghost, though).
