The issue is just ambiguity about how high the limit for power meshing is.

Maybe give a guideline via characters or something that it would be unreasonable for players to become more powerful than?

ie Sentinel, Despero or some such.

If your character can't beat Thanos for the majority after meshing, then he's legal IMO (Despero is lower part of trans tier so I won't put him as cap, there was a lot of arguing that he belongs into high herald tier). Simply as that.

no one can beat thanos

😆

I'm just saying Despero is possible cap for meshing, being the lesser being among the trans tiers. If the character becomes Despero's equal, he's OK, superior=too powerful.

as far as ring duplication goes, here are the pages concerning it from Blackest Night #6:

how that applies to the tourney, well...

Looks like you need a guardian to do it 🙂

No you don't. 🙂

Yes.

But it's been done before. Without a guardian.

And we'll let Quanchi be the judge on who can beat Thanos.

Thanks to Pr for closing the other thread in the VS Forum. Please post any questions/concerns/suggestions/etc about the tourney in this thread. Thanks.

Ok, time is starting to become an issue here, so I'm going to go ahead and address the major questions still remaining. I know many may object but this is the best we can do under the present situation. Special consideration will be given to any team who has one partner quit because they felt that they were unable to continue in the tourney given these conditions.

Basic Summery:
-Power sources are reproducible and sharable provided your team is physically capable to recreating them and you obey the prep restrictions. The sharing of power sources will generally be seen as not putting a particular character over the limits (see point 2 for details).

-The meshing power limit will remain at the very top of high-herald. Violations of it will be decided by Batdude and myself. Again, this is a matter of opinion but we will give teams some room with the high-herald cap to be creative and innovative. Please be reasonable and don't try to abuse the leeway we are giving everyone.

-Add/drop will be extended until Saturday Dec. 26 at midnight (EST) to allow any team the chance to adjust their rosters in light of the above.

-The Trading Round will begin when the add/drop ends and will continue through all of Sunday Dec. 27 (ending at Midnight Sunday EST). You can negotiate trades at any time before hand, but they must be publicly posted in the noted time period.

-Matches will be announced Monday, with fights starting on Tuesday Dec. 22.

Confirmed and approved teams:

Team psycho charlotte - Kyle Rayner (GL), Zatanna, Tangent Superman

Team darthgoober & Blair Wind - Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom, Eradicator

Team: id369 and King Kandy - Genis-Vell, Quasar, Onslaught

Team Philosophia and PR - Hal Jordan (GL), Superman, Martian Manhunter

Team Leonidas & Galen007 - Annihilus, Loki, Walter West (Dark Flash)

Team Kris Blaze & KM - Captain Comet, Beta Ray Bill, Talisman II/Shaman

Team Omega Vision & JL King - Wally West (Flash), All Star Superman, Swamp Thing

Team JaketheBank - Thor, Cyborg Superman, Sinestro

Also, a small change to a previous decision: All Lanterns will be allowed to have their Power Batteries during prep time, but may not under any circumstance take one into the battle.

can you clarify the judging process please?

can you clarify the judging process please?

Sure. After several days of debating, each judge vote for one team to win and will score the teams in terms of the following criteria:

Originality:0-5
Effectiveness:0-5
Debating Skill:0-10

For a total of 20 possible points. Whoever ends up with the most judges overall votes gets the match, but if there in case of a tie we'll go by point totals.

We still don't know how many judges we'll have at this point, so the total for each match might be even or odd. Thus we put the point system in place in order to deal with a vote deadlock.

is there a post limit for the teams? or is there a time limit?

Still to be determined. We'll let everyone know the details before the matches start.
