STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

I'm thinking intimidating him by saying he has no where else to go. Edula did sell him out to us without much effort afterall.

Marl is waiting to hear your offers patiently, while those newly freed below are aimlessly ambling around, waiting for someone to direct them and tell them what's going on. Some are gawking at the newly-killed thugs that Vlad put blaster bolts into.

Yeah, go for it Wentar.

"Marl, what better offer could you possibly get," Wentar says. "Edula's betrayed you, she told us where to find you, hell I think she expected us to kill you. After this I'm sure she'll hunt you down to tie up loose strings. But we still can't overlook your crimes. A shorter sentence is your best bet at this point."

He already wants a shorter sentence, he just wants you to make him a deal that he can truly benefit from. A court is not likely to say 'he came quietly' when Vlad had to put down his thugs.

Remember why you came looking for him in the first place.

We came looking for him to get info about where the slaves were being sent to, right?

Yes, the Triskatani slaves.

Would leaving out the charges involving the Triskatani slaves be beneficial to him? Perhaps never reveal his name to the public during the arrest, etc, so less angry people are gunning for him?

Keeping things quiet and away from him interests him. When you mention the Triskatani slaves, he lights up.

"I'll tell you everything you want to know if you'll cut me a deal," he sputters rapidly.

Well Wentar can agree on keeping things quiet. So long as he does serve time and this time stick to his probation if/when he is released.

Marl agrees to whatever you want, so long as his sentence can be shortened.

Alrighty then! Wentar and Vlad will use their Jedi Authority to keep Marl's arrest and trial quiet and arrange for a shorter sentence in exchange for information about the Triskatani slaves.

Perhaps Vlad's merit to Mace Windu can help us with our end of the deal?

Indeed, Vlad's connection to the Council can ensure that Chandrilla doesn't lock Marl away for eternity after breaking his parole and returning to his criminal ways.

"What do you want to know?" Marl asks.

"Where were the Triskatani slaves being sent to?"

"Ah, you're following up on what Farl did," Marl says. "Are you sure you want to do that? It's not a nice trail going after those Triskatani."

"I am sure," Wentar says. "I knew it wouldn't be simple going in."

"You had your warning, then," Marl says.

Marl sadly does not know all the nooks and crannies of the Kylugo Srum's dealings. He claims that they have a variety of schemes for getting the slaves where they need to go- his shipping crates are just one, though he hasn't done business with them in awhile.

"They used to send a freighter to pick up the crates under the pretense that they were supplies," Marl says. "I didn't operate out of Nar Shaddaa, of course. I thought it might work here again." He shrugs.

Despite not knowing all the details, he can tell you where they end up.

"Do you know what the Seat of Srum is?" he asks.

"Never heard of it," Wentar says, even if he does know of it.

You do not.

"You're about to. First off, I'll start by asking this. What is one thing that most, if not all, pirates and slavers have in common?"

"A general disregard for the well being of others?" Wentar says uncertainly.
