STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

Started by REXXXX81 pages

Initiative goes to... Marl and his boys! Meaning that Vlad doesn't get to cover before they open fire; he is making a break for it when they do. Vlad can be grateful for the gangways providing cover, but he takes some unlucky hits from the thugs around him. He takes 7 damage from Marl's pistol. Bolts explode across the floor as they chase Vlad, causing quite a ruckus.

After throwing himself behind some crates, Vlad guns down two of the thugs.

Wentar, sounds like Vlad has found trouble. You will get there at the start of turn 4.

Vlad winces as Marl's blaster finds it's mark. He'll take few shots at the remaining two thugs behind him.

Things are more in favor of Vlad this time. With his cover and his rifle, he picks off the next two thugs flanking him. However, nobody gets the drop on him but Marl- who is promptly Parried by Vlad's use of Eye of the Storm. Handy, that. No damage, this round.

Vlad's going to tap Carnival of Carnage to blast at the four thugs in front.

Bang! In an impressive display of marksmanship, Vlad picks off his four targets before they can push forward and past his cover. There is a sprinkling of lasers from above but once again, Vlad's environment protects him. Marl misses too.

At which point, Wentar and Emso show up! Marl sees the odds stacking against him, and tells his men to scatter. He starts to flee.

"Emso, Vlad stop those goons!" Wentar shouts as he arrives, seeing the thugs scattering and thinking it best not to let them seek help.

Focused Guard, Dodge and Weave and Block in please, tap Dodge and Weave.

Wentar will use Leaping to get up to the gangways where Marl is.

Wentar goes up! Marl takes a shot at you before you get your lightsaber out, as you have opted to tap a Combat schtick. Fortunately, he rolls one success but it is reduced to one point of damage by the effects of the tap.

When Wentar snaps out his lightsaber (and presumably Vlad does the same shortly after), Marl drops his pistol.

"I quit!" Marl shouts.

"Excellent!" Wentar says, keeping his lightsaber in hand. "Now we can finally have our little talk."

Marl spits on the gangway in front of you.

"I won't confess to anything," Marl says. "I've got a legitimate business here."

Wentar narrows his eyes, glancing back at the shipping containers, almost certainly sensing life within them.

"Legitimate..." he mutters angrily before shaking his head. "I almost don't know where to start... We're here for information."

Vlad strides up to stand next to Wentar, staring down Marl.

"And after we receive that information, you're going to open up those containers for us..."

Marl groans; you have caught him and there is no way out for him.

"Just like damn Chandrilla," Marl snarls. "Just like it! So, Vlad, I see you've grown up and caught me yourself. The wheel goes round and round. Is this it? You ran a sting on my operation?"

Emso has gone to collect papers from the office for your use.

"You had a chance to restart your life, to leave all this behind... The chances are, now you'll have to spend the rest of your life in captivity."

Marl groans.

"Maybe they'll let me out for good behavior," Marl says, "and my cooperation. I'm going to grab the remote that unlocks the containers. Don't shoot me when I do it."

Marl does so, reaching for the remote and pressing in the master keycode. All of the containers below unlock... but only three or four contain prisoners, about twenty apiece.

"Indeed..." Wentar mutters as he watches Marl unlock the containers, keeping his senses open to detect any backstabbing from Marl. "Speaking of cooperation. We have some questions about your dealings with one Senator Farl."

"Information is a valuable commodity," Marl says. "Cut me a deal, here, and I'll see what I can tell you."

"We can certainly overlook the unpleasant fire fight that went down here," Wentar says. "We can tell them you came to us voluntarily and arrange for a shorter sentence."

"That's no good to me," Marl says. "I need something better than that."

(Mental blank for the past day... Vlad! Any ideas?)

What can we give him other than a shorter sentence? We can't let him go...

Do you think you could intimidate him with a 'longer sentence'?
