STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"A base of operations," Marl says, frowning.

"True enough," Wentar says. "So this Seat is the Srum's base of operations?"

"Yes. Not just any base of operations, though. It's a space station!"

"A space station which acts as a base of operations for slavers and pirates alike?"

We might need the support of the council on this one...

"Yeah, exactly. It is where the Srum were founded. It used to travel but fueling that ancient thing must have been too much for their coffers to fund. Or it broke. Either way, it orbits a dead, nameless dwarf planet. I guess you could call it Srum too. I can give you the coordinates..."

A bit of palaver with the Council might be necessary, yes. Remain aware of the fact that your mission is not official.

"That would be very much appreciated... Thank you," Wentar says.

Aye, we should at least let them know what we've found out. Hell the Sentient Rights Commission may be able to make use of the whereabouts of the Srum's HQ.

What does Vlad think about that?

Same as Wentar, we should notify the council of this and see what they say. I'm pretty sure were going to have to disguise ourselves as slavers and sneak in.

As it is, you are done here on Nar Shaddaa. Marl did not deal directly with the Kylugo Srum or the Tyr-sen and cannot be implicated in their dealings. He is an independent slaver, and now an arrested one. He gladly shares with you the coordinates to the uncharted, uninhabited dwarf world that the Seat of Srum is in orbit around.

"If you need anything else, feel free to ask!" Marl says. "AND to lower my sentence, whatever it will be."

It is actually Edula that sends men to clean up Marl's operation on Nar Shaddaa, at the behest of a powerful local Hutt. She does make an appearance herself, but her rat-faced servant Harfer does. He seems pretty pleased with how things turned out.

All that remains for you to do is return to your ship, contact the Council, and plan how to tackle this space station of slavers.

What about the other slaves who were in the warehouse?

Harfer seems to think that they are going to Edula...

Does Wentar have any authority at all to contest that?

No. It is unlikely that these folks are Republic citizens.

But it is wrong, is it not?

Aye, there has to be something Wentar can do. But even still... where will they go even if Wentar could barter their freedom? I doubt he could fit them all onto the Free Flier and right now he doesn't have the time to ferry people back home.

Quite a problem.

Hmmm. Can Wentar be all tricky and claim that these 'Slaves' must go to the Republic to serve as witnesses for Marl's trial?

It is a Law + Intelligence check to see if Wentar knows how to make that happen, even if he is bluffing.

Wentar doesn't have any law... But his int is a 4.

If that's no good could the slaves claim asylum with the Republic? I'm sure Harfer isn't willing to argue with Vlad and Wentar if we can pull off a legit reason to free these slaves.

Claiming asylum for the slaves works FAR better, and a single success on your Law check tells you that this is the sort of thing the Sentient Rights Committee is all about!

Harfer seems pretty pissed about it, but he doesn't seem ready to fight Jedi over a group of underfed, unwashed slaves.

Good job!

Vlad's going to contact the council and inform them of the situation. He will inquiry about how to transport the slaves, as well as what they should do about the Seat of Srum.
