STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"I don't recall ever discussing a fee," Wentar says. "I just assumed you were in a talkative mood."

"Ehhhhh," the Toydarian says, wagglng a three-fingered hand at you before flapping off to the other side of the bar to help another patron.

Wentar will shrug as the Toydarian flies off. He finishes his drink and leaves the bar, pausing to glance around for a second, half expecting to see Hanza staring at him from a shadowy corner.

"Well that wasn't a complete waste of time," he says when he meets Vlad and Emso outside. "Turns out a lot of the rumors we heard were true."

He makes sure they aren't being over heard before continuing. "Seems like both Hanza and Altar are on this station somewhere as well as some up and coming tough called Nelgrin. Loj'oon also seems to be putting some heavy restrictions on the slave trade here, abusive slavers seem to have no place here."

Hmmm, where to move on from here. We still have no idea where to find Loj'oon or even what to say when we find him.

No Hanza, thankfully. You'll definitely want to avoid him if he is wandering around the Market.

"That's good, at least," Emso says. "Wonder why that is. Maybe ask around somewhere else?"

I suppose we can just wander the market, see what we hear. Though this revelation about Hanza possibly wandering the market makes Wentar uneasy, he will more then likely recognise me. Any chance of disguising my face and are there any other places of note that would be good 'info' gathering places?

Random pointless thought, but, since Hanza was in charge of the Stardusters operation, I can't help but think they were connected to the Srum now.

Oooh, someone's thinking...

The odds of running into Hanza are pretty low as the Market is tremendous, along the lines of in-the-moment Living Force statistics. Someone more Cosmic, like Vlad, may think that it could be unavoidable...

Which Vlad is starting to feel. The name Hanza, though you have no idea who that is, makes you curious. And unhappy.

That's true and hunting for a disguise would probably raise suspicion.

Are there separate areas in the market? Like an area for slave trade, one for weapon selling, another for drugs, etc?

No. It is all a random mish-mash of disorganized, illegal hedonism.

Well then! With out any other ideas lets roam the market for awhile, listen to the general conversations, gauge the moods of the slave traders and any Srum goons.

Perhaps we can find out if there are any Trikistani slave 'stalls' around and we might be able to find some info on where Loj'oon is.

Alright! It will be Observation + Perception to track down the Triskatani stalls, Savoir-Faire + Charisma for general socializing, and just plain asking to find Loj'oon.

Hmmm, Vlad has neither.

Can I do both?

"I can do it if Vlad stays with me," Emso says, referring to finding the Triskatani.

"That will work," Wentar says.

5 Cha + 2 Savoir-Faire socializing away!

Wentar and Vlad part ways, then.

Wentar is milling about and chatting up sellers and buyer as he peruses the booths. Let us not forget that Wentar has a certain Presence about him, and Savoir-Faire gives him an idea of who to talk to. He has ten dice to play with.

Five successes for our socialite allows him to get a feel for the Market's atmosphere. Most of the people you talk with are not entirely pleased with how things are being run on the Seat. Loj'oon has enforced taxation upon many of the goods making their way in and out of the station. He claims the taxes are going toward improving the Seat, but they aren't seeing results.

The most damaging criticism of Loj'oon is that he promised to make the Seat of Srum mobile again and has made no effort to follow that up.

Vlad accompanies Emso into a portion of the Market that has a concentration of slave stalls. It takes some time, but Emso manages to find a seller that has an exclusive shipment of Triskatani slaves.

It must be said, Vlad is feeling a little off-track. You set out to find your adopted father's murderer and so far you are tagging along for Wentar's abolitionist extravaganza.

Wentar will ask around on how people go about seeing Loj'oon.

Loj'oon resides in the 'building' in the very center of the Market, where he can watch everything going on. It was formerly the station's bridge.

One can make appointments to talk with him; he's very social despite his dangerous occupation.

Interesting. We might want to look into that at some point. Wentar will Savoir-Faire + Charisma for info about Altar, where he's being held, what he was doing.

A lot of people talk about the spectacle he made down in the lower levels killing Loj'oon's thugs and trying to break into somewhere (some say the cargo bay, others say the engine room). Nobody is sure what he was trying to achieve.

They are sure that he is being held in the station's prison under high security.

Where is the station's prison?

Below the cargo bay, above maintenance. It is restricted; the lifts go straight past it unless you have a passcard.
