STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Cursed Swarm

6-2, stays with you again.

You roll much better this time, with seven of your nine dice showing successes! 13 damage makes that Soldier pretty pissed off. It misses in return.

Seth and Aurel clean up their area, leaving hundreds of chopped up beetles in piles around them. The burning Soldier collapses.

The Swarms replenish around you despite Trawley and Harvik holding them off, coming out of the ground beneath your feet. You are missed but your friends are bitten.

Drop that soldier!

Consider it dropped! It springs toward you one final time and you duck beneath its charge, splitting it open from below.

With the greater insects destroyed, the Swarm does not replenish nearly as fast as it had been. Between the five of you, the Swarm is kept at bay until FR-3PO arrives to translate the signs painted on the great tree.

"What do you wish for me to translate?" the protocol droid asks.

'it's just here," says Iffa indicating what he uncovered, " do you think you can make anything of it?"

FR-3PO takes a moment to start analyzing the map.

"Well, it's a rather simple dialect," the prissy droid says, "and not very common. It is fortunate that I have added over six hundred new languages in my travels!"

The protocol droid translates the map. It marks important dwellings in the village, directions on a compass, and landmarks in and around the village.

"An adequate map at best," FR-3PO says. "The Bollans must not have much experience with..."

"Thank you, Monarch, that's enough," Seth says.

'much experience with what?'

"Cartography," FR-3PO says. "You see, the map is more conceptual and is without measurements and..."

"Don't get him started," Seth mutters. "He'll keep us here for days."

"My apologies, Master Ketra," FR-3PO says. "I do get carried away sometimes. Perhaps a flaw in my programming."

"See anything notable?" Seth asks you.

Might be worth checking the notable buildings and landmarks for more detail?

Observation check...

In the village, there are depictions of the House of the Vaka ("Meaning 'priest' or 'leader,'" explains FR-3PO) and a great meeting hall. Notable trees are also depicted.

Outside the village, a nearby river is marked, and beyond it, a mountain.

"It is called 'Utu Malakui,'" FR-3PO says. "I am... not sure what that means, I'm afraid."

There is also a forest, rather simply named the Dark Forest. Little paintings of Garans adorn this area.

I would say double check the house of the priest, then make for the mountain.

Double-checking the House of the Vaka is rather inconclusive; it has been totally decimated by fire. Nothing remains but its foundations.

To the mountain then!

It is going to be some time walking to the mountain. You entered the village from the south and will be leaving through the east, toward the mountain. The darkly-depicted forest is to the north.

"We should move quickly," Aurel says. "And stay ahead of these insects."

"I agree," Seth says. "Whatever they are, they're bad news."

"No arguments on that one" replies Iffa.

The group sets off toward the mountain, then.

En route, Seth and Aurel want to know more about yourself, being a fellow Jedi.

"Me? Oh, there's not much to say! I was born a Dehlitican human, and found and trained by Master Fisto."

"Master Fisto?" Seth asks. "He's a candidate for the Council, isn't he?"

"Quite the warrior," Aurel notes. "What was training under him like?"

"he is," responds Iffa to both comments," and the training was very thorough. He always encouraged me to make the most of my strengths but be aware of my weaknesses. I never knew my family - Master Fitso is the only father I've ever had. He's an awesome swordsman. I can't imagine anyone beating him with a lightsabre. He matches even Master Windu."

"None of us knew our family," Aurel says. "Such is the way of the Order. It prevents attachements."

"I'd like to give him a challenge," Seth says about Master Fisto's skill. "I'm quite the swordsman, and I do more for the Galaxy than he does."

"you wouldn't last three blows." Iffa is not sure about this Seth, and becoming less sure by the minute.
