(Well, I finally made it back this afternoon! It ended up being about a 12-hour surgery, and was actually in the hospital for 14 days. Really rought ride there for a while. Everything turned out well in the end, though. TWO new mechanical valves and a pacemacker and a few other 'procedures' to tie up odds and ends around the heart. Doing well now, ready to start getting back into all parts of my life.

So, I just finished reading through all that I mised. Wow. Wish the fight had gone better, obviously, but Andro was lucky to stay up as long as he did. Shame we couldn't have passed a few med-packs along the parade route. 😉

Andro is no speech-maker, but my own opinion is the fight will start either out here or in there. If Thea can't win the Zaari over, exactly what can we say to change their minds. Unless something about the SnK would help? (ridiculous toss-out, there)

Anyhow, I'm back, ready to help if I can.)

Well, I can make a straight Persuade roll for Jelena, though it's still a bit wordy and a hard roll. If anyone wants to say or do anything in support, the roll can be eased.

Vera-Kin will speak in Jelena's support.

"We have wounded," Vera-Kin says. "Please, do not fire."

Would powers like Leadership help here?

Depending on the approach taken, yes!

The problem with that tack, Vera, is that it might be a reason to leave you alone, but not to let you in!

How about this?

"We have wounded and are under Lady Thea's protection," Vera-Kin says. "Please, do not fire and let us pass in peace."

What value is the being wounded part? Like I say, that's no reason to let you in.

It also rather looks more like she is under your protection...

Wouldn't it be considered illegal for them to stop Thea from attending the Assembly?

You are in no position to dictate legality- you are not seen as authority figures here. If they didn't listen to Thea, who is such a figure, they will not to you.

Besides, you aren't actually sure what is legal here or not.

Let's try this then...

"We are staying by the Lady," Vera-Kin says in support of Jelena. "We do not want to cause trouble in the Assembly and only want to attend too. Let us pass."

The Zaari at the head of the welcoming committee shakes her head and draws her guns.

"Looks like the time for words is done," Xeth comments wearily to his group.

Wentar will defiantly move in front of Thea to protect her at this point.

Well, she's not fired yet, else I'd have entered combat time!

Aye, just a precaution though. Other then that Wentar is making no aggressive move. He wants it clear we don't want any more violence, but we will defend ourselves.

Would it be Lying if Vera-Kin said that we wanted to speak before the Assembly to seek a diplomatic solution with the Consul?

I think it would be classed as misleading, yes. Thea is coming to unseat Aquila and that deserves to be mentioned if we want to all it truthful.

Of course, telling them that is going to make them draw on us.

Certainly phrased that way.

So if we put it in a 'nice' way it may work better...

Obviously I don't want to help out too much as this is your problem (especially as you are so beat up).

Zaari aren't exactly the sort t be sweet talked to, though.
