USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

(If Ush rules out my 'looking for Katai's residence' idea I'll have Wentar join you with Jezed, Roan.)

She's been here less than a day; residence is not guaranteed.

-

"Hmmmmmmm..." says Jezed, his expression unchanging. He blinks.

-

Well, the cities are mostly given over to the Kodra Repository, but that still leaves vast amounts of the planet for living space for the local hives. Off-worlders never go there though; only to the Repository. But the whole problem is that she could be anywhere within it and it is massive.

"My only interest here is in the capture of this criminal, Kara Katal. I am not seeking to enquire into the business of the Tellanians. That is of no matter to me."

(Can some of us hit a cantina? Usually a good source of info on who's been poking around.)

Tilulla tried- she can't find any other than one in the starport. It's the dullest world she's ever been to.

-

"Hmmmmm..." says Jezed.

"Perhaps it would help if you just said what you actually wanted?" suggests the aide.

Oh! I assumed she's been here for, like, a week.

Did we try follow up her movements from the starport? Like view te security logs until the cameras lost sight of her? Or is that the same thing that Tillula's droid is covering?

Anyway! With no other ideas panning out that much Wentar will be with Roan and Xeth.

-

"Great Jezed," Wentar says, hoping to appeal to the Hutt's ego. "We thank you for giving us your time so we may short out this situation. I am sure you are a very busy Hutt.

"As my associate Roan has said we are certain Kara Katai is here and that she intends to commit theft from one of the vaults here. Our problem is we do not know which vault she plans to hit or exactly what she plans to steal. Only that it is small enough for her to easliy carry and that it is more then likely to be something thousands of years old.

"Providing us some kind of aid in narrowing down our search, either by ruling out some vaults or granting us access to some of the vault records would help us immensely."

Could Wentar say that in Huttesse with a languages of 2 and an Int score of 4?

Yes, though it is hard to be that polite in Huttese- it does obsequious much better than respectful.

"Hmmmmm...." says Jezed.

"Like I told your colleague," says the aide, "we are happy to help you narrow your search if you can provide us enough useful criteria."

Then... why are we seeing this lawyer if they're already intending to help us?

Though we don't really know much to narrow it down outside of 'It's small' and 'It'll be about as old as the Republic'.

I suppose we could ask for a list of all those items suiting that criteria...

The tomb on Agalania was extremely old but not 'as old as the Republic'.

Ah! Righto.

What if we used the general time of when the tomb on Agalania was sealed as a cut off point. Anything younger then that and we're not interesting? Probably not helpful...

Actually how long has the kodra repository been around for? Maybe Kara is after something in one of the older vaults that have been in use since the beginning?

Because you have no idea if other stolen bits came from after that time.

The Repository is old but not on that timescale.

Just a thought, but what if we ask for a list of vault holders that are storing small items? Maybe check to see if there are any well known collectors of historical items in that list.

I think we asked for names - they are evidently so confidential that not even the management know their names

I'm certain management know the names of their clients. They just don't want to tell us, for several reasons both legit and unreasonable. The Hutt Lawyer will be interesting... Unfortunately none of us have Law. I'm certain that'd be a nifty skill right now.

If you want to find out what happens if you ask something, you will have to ask it!

Yes! Good point, I have a bad habit of asking 'what ifs' when I should just ask. Continuing on...

"One thing that we would like," Wentar says, continuing after the aide provides his advice. "Is a list of the vault owners who are storing small items, nothing larger then something a person could easily carry and conceal."

"Well," says the aide, "we'll have to see what..."

Jezel is very slowly and slightly shaking his head.

"Actually, I think that one might prove difficult," says the aide.

"And why is that?" Wentar asks. "We are not asking for exact details on what is inside their vaults other then the size of the items."

"Unfortunately even that would violate the confidentially agreements we signed with our clients," says the aide. "I am afraid you would have to lock us up for doing so! Unless you have a court order, obviously."

"Of course," Wentar says with a smile. And you know very well the odds of us getting a court order are slim to none, especially in this timeframe.

"Perhaps we could get a copy of this confidentiality agreement. Just so we could get a better understanding of what we are and are not allowed to know?

(Maybe I'm going the wrong way with this, but I'm thinking that if we get a copy maybe we can find a loophole we can use to get at the records... assuming we don't need law to find such things.)
