So if one day he leads us to somewhere where we are definitely getting hurt or killed, he will say it's better to always learn from the unexpected. Ladies and gentlemen, our ally is an *******.

Wentar likes this guy! 😄

"Well if they're not hostile we have very little to worry about," Wentar says, slightly amused with Ascar's 'surprise'. "Though, Ascar, what do the Atrii have to do with Kara Katai?"

Ush, do the tattoo's/clothing/piercings that the Atrii have carry any resemblance with Kara Katai's?

Nope.

"Patience..." says Ascar. "And I imagine those people died quite some time ago."

The Atrii are leading you up the paths towards the rock wall at the base of the mountain.

I heard we had a protocol droid with us... any chance he understands the language or can figure out the origin of the language? He should be more apt at it than a Jedi anyway... it might be a good idea to have an idea about their culture so we don't accidently anger them or suddenly figure out they are cannibals with a special taste in JEdi or something.

Ush said that if I didn't understand it, nobody would. I'm guessing that includes the protocol droid. This is going to be a language that nobody knows but the Atrii... and Ascar, it seems.

Jelena is going to get working on figuring out their language right away, of course. She follows the Atrii as they guide the Jedi and their ally up to the mountain wall.

Wentar just shrugs at Ascar's response and starts following the Atrii along with the other Jedi.

No, the protocol droid does not have the language in his database. And in fact he's not better at working them out than Jelena is- Jelena has a Scholar's speciality in languages. That trumps just about anything. But anything she works out, the droid will be able to put in its database also.

Hmm, listening to it though, Jelena... it has syntactic elements that are not dissimilar from those used in the Republic. You'd bet on a common origin.

It's a start! Jelena will likely keep listening to everything that goes back at forth between the Atrii for awhile so that she can develop a working understanding of their language and possibly start chatting with them.

She's better than a machine? Damn, I like... 😉

Can I take a look at their architecture? Figures? Statues? Anything that indicates something about their history? I have a keen interest in this... history tells a lot about their future.

There isn't any architecture- there are no buildings.

Hmm... what does Denzral sense in general.

In general, nothing.

Xeth is just going to walk along, ready to draw his blaster at any moment should the Atrii decide that they don't like the Jedi being there.

"Are the Atrii descendants of those from the cities?" Xeth asks Ascar, trying his luck at getting an answer out of the cryptic man.

"Well, what do you think?" asks Ascar.

"Can't you just give direct answers?" Xeth asks. "Yes, of course they are."

"Wisdom must be acquired. It cannot be given," says Ascar. "And see? You already knew."

Xeth groans.

"I'm supposing we'll find out more about the Atrii once our resident linguistics professor here figures out how to communicate with them without your help?" Xeth asks.

"Well, I am not sure you have time for an exhaustive study. You have an important mission to complete, after all."

"Which civilization lived here on the planet? Are they descendent of other tribes. Do they have a writing system?"
