USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

"Vera-Kin," Vera says, slightly crestfallen after her realization that Nebb is probably going to do something awful with this later. "At your service."

The droid talks to Nebb for a bit, who jabbers away in his weird language.

"The Senator is not aware of a serving Jedi Master by that name."

"I attained the rank of Master, but I am not serving," Vera-Kin says, staying honest.

(She DOES have a Reputation but I'm not sure she wants Nebb to know of it)

"Not a serving Master?" says the droid, in surprise. "You mean you are not invested with the authority of a Master? You are not here as a representative of the Jedi Order?"

(I guess I don't have the authority, no, but I did volunteer to come as a rep of the Order, right?)

Sanctioned by, but you don't have a Master's authority. He's after the equivalent of a senior officer.

Well, Nebb is once more outraged. A fake Master is no good to him. Who is in charge around here? He demands to speak with the team leader.

Seeing as that is Roan... it'd be Lying to pass someone else off as the team leader, yes?

(Well, doesn't THAT sound like a dangerous question to answer? Andro loves danger...)

"Senator," Andro begins, his tone as sweet and artificially subservient as he can make it. "Unfortunately, the leader of our expedition here is indisposed. I will personally inform his of your request and escort him to you at the first opportunity."

Yes it is, Vera, and too easily checked.

"Indisposed?" says the droid. "That is hardly acceptable! The Senator insists, then, on speaking to his deputy."

I believe Roan appointed Andro as his deputy while he was out, didn't he? 😛

(Unfortunately, Andro is no liar. Not sure who I could uthfully designate someone. Gallagher, I suppose... Let me try this.)

"Your Honor, we do not operate that way. Unless there is a vested Master among us (Andro makes sure to not glance at Vera here, he hopes she understands.) we are all equals. We are all Knights. Roan holds non type of rank over us save for his position as team leader. Therefore, you can be confident that you are speaking to someone who can hear your concerns and take them to Roan"

(My career in customer service is lending a bit of a hand here. Also, irl, I just love poking arrogant people.)

Jelena is going to contact the Chancellor (if she can) and update him on the situation as quickly as possible.

No way is Gallagher getting involved in talking to Nebb. The creature is poison and Gallagher does NOT like him.

Actually the second most senior Jedi to Roan is Jelena. Sadly, neither of them are here to handle Nebb.

"The Senator does not want his concerns passed on by some mere messenger boy! Why has no-one in authority been left to supervise him? The Senator is strongly considering filing a motion in the Senate about this matter!"

-

Jelena- no you cannot contact anyone. You and Roan are the ones on the spot.

Well as Iffa can't get fuel and stealing a boat isn't worthwhile, then he puts the group's sabres in a waterproof bag and swims back to the ship.

If we have them, I'll also bring smoke and stun grenades.

Vera-Kin purses her lips. She is not sure if asking what Nebb means by that is wise.

Could he actually accomplish anything with that threat?

Jelena will confer with Roan and their Padawans, then.

"There is something not right about this," Jelena says. "Vodon is hell-bent on initiating war with the Republic if we do not return the Senator. As much as I... dislike Senator Nebb, we can't simply hand him over. But it certainly would prevent any unnecessary bloodshed.

"Do we think there's an ulterior motive here?"

Nebb is an important man and part of a significant power block; his motions in the Senate carry weight.

-

Essalin isn't sensing anything other than desperation from these people.

But what could he possibly pass against the Jedi Order? His threat seems somewhat absurd to Vera-Kin, especially as she thinks the number of Jedi assigned to this mission is overkill for protecting this one Senator. She thought there were going to be more.

The Jedi Order depends upon the Senate for funding and its legal authority, and of late the Jedi have not been very popular. Nebb could demand heads in return for not causing more trouble.

And indeed, the number of Jedi sent to protect him is hardly inadequate.
