Gallagher will be reaching out with his senses during all of this. What he feels reminds him of the smothering joy put off by the crowd that applauded Sienar, but he forgets it when the kettle drums are wheeled out.

Gallagher keeps D'an close, telling him to do as Gallagher is doing; reaching out with his senses and exploring.

Vera-Kin will quietly observe events and eat vegetable snacks. She is slightly embarassed by her performance in the jungle against the bior.

Can she see anyone that isn't unbelievably stoked at our being here and now tribe members?

As for Medicine ratings being applied:

Jovan can heal Gallagher and himself.
I can heal D'an and Essallin.
Gallagher can heal me and Xeth.
Denzral can heal Argo and Sunda.
Wentar can heal Denzral and himself.
Essallin can heal Jelena and Roan.

That leaves Andro and Vlad the only ones not receiving attention for their cuts and bruises, but they'll live, I'm sure.

The girls are all lining up by the smoking pot.

"Hmph," Jelena says. "I just think it would be more efficient to have a basic understanding of the Atrii language."

Jelena also is unsure if she wants to entrust all translating to Ascar. He seems to have been a faithful translator so far, but let's not forget who he is...

Jelena sees the girls lining up and thinks of her own species. She thinks to ask Ascar what they are doing, but she merely watches, taking his advice.

Xeth will take another hit of the vapors before getting out of the dancing girls' way, so that he too can watch and enjoy.

Now other Atrii are bringing in an assortment of rods and poles, held horizontally, as the girls inhale from the pot.

Gallagher- you are feeling anxious for some reason. You also see that Ascar has sidled over to the Atrii chief.

Gallagher watches Ascar and the chief cautiously. He knows that Ascar can quite easily sense him doing so, but he doesn't like that he has become anxious about things, nor Ascar 'sidling.'

Gallagher will Scan the chief, no points spent.

The chief seems very genuine- happy and expressive.

Gallagher will tell Roan and Jelena about his anxious feeling, and ask D'an to keep watch on Ascar and the chief with him while the celebration continues.

Is there anything in particular that has made Gallagher anxious?

Nope.

Guess we're going to watch and wait, then.

Well, they are all slim, athletic, limber and lithesome. And dark haired.

I'd just like to point out that reading these celebration descriptions while listening to two-tone ska was really awesome, especially Xeth getting high.
Although I do have a feeling that Xeth smoking was entering himself into some death ritual.

It would explain Gallagher feeling anxious if that were the case, but I don't think that's it... something is just off.

That would be bad... but we can't intervene, we need to observe. Right?

Can Jelena see that anyone is armed amongst the Atrii? Maybe with those machetes they use?

None of them are specifically armed as it is.
