Wait, Vera's Ears arnt working? Why?

Yes, definitely! Jelena will come over when she sees the dancer perform her trick and sees Vlad approach her to ask about it.

"How did you do that?" she asks, using what little she has accumulated of the Atrii language.

I think it was because the drums were too loud.

"It is fascinating," Gallagher says, "but also very strange. One would think it would be hard to have one without the other."

Gallagher examines the mosaic of Ascar telling his story, all those years ago.

"I must admit that I am jealous of your travels," Gallagher says. "I grew up in the Temple and rarely ventured outwards, due to the Order's caution toward me."

"Strange indeed," says Ascar. "But it is all the same to them. They record everything. but they are vague on the idea that it is lost to reality. They can understand history by points of reference- the time of my father, for example. But the idea that things were ever any different, or could change... beyond them."

"Tu ka serat," says the leader, heading off down another corridor. Ascar follows.

You are about to go after them, Gallagher, but a glint down another corridor catches your eye.

-

Jelena- it's still very difficult, and they don;t seem to understand your question. They also seem to be confused as to why Xeth does not do it., With Vlad, they indicate the pot.

Hmm, something in the drug they take, gives them, basically temporary force powers to manipulate gravity?
Whats-her-name, did always have a little pouch with her. She could be carrying some sort of distillation of the drug.
I will follow the chief.
I won't tell Galagher NOT to go down the glinty hallway.....

He leads you through more corridors, Roan- taking you a long way in.

"I'll be right back," Gallagher says in a distracted manner, patting Roan on the shoulder before following the glint that he saw, keeping D'an with him. "I saw something down this way, my Padawan. Stay close."

No, it can't work like that... though maybe the disorienting effect helps them do it.

"Xeth, jump over!" Jelena says. "They seem to think you should be able to do what they do!"

Jelena will prepare to use Lift to catch Xeth, so that he doesn't hurt himself.

Can Xeth even begin to imagine trying it? Yeah, he's disoriented, but I don't think he can ignore gravity...

You head down the corridor, Gallagher. You cannot quite see what it was. Must have been light from a torch glinting off one of the mosaics.

Trouble is, when you turn back around, you see there are three different ways you could have come from- and in this twisty gloom, it is hard to tell which one was which.

Well, you'll try anything once...

Xeth gives a curt nod to Jelena.

"Alright, here goes nothing..."

Xeth will make the leap upward and close his eyes, tapping into the Force for assistance in his jump and letting the disorienting effects of the vapors take over, to see if that is how the trick is done.

"No! They wonder why he doesn't because they all can. It's natural to them. I don't think that stuff can give them the ability, but it sure looks like it makes you feel like you can. Perhaps they beleive they can do tricks only under its influence."

Ok, Xeth- after watching a couple of other girls do it-- you charge at the impossible assortment of poles and jump...

A problem now. What with the smoke, the drums and the drug, mid jump you are suddenly acutely aware that you have completely lost your sense of balance, and all your eyes can make out is a blur in all directions.

You don't know where the floor is. This is a problem because you just force jumped into the air, and you are about to come back down. If you don't use the Force to soften your landing, you will break your legs.

Xeth will then quite obviously use the Force to soften his landing as he doesn't want to be hobbled for THIS mission as well. Being unable to walk during the war on Alura was enough for one lifetime.

If Jelena can help soften his landing using Lifting, she will do so.

Except that involves knowing where the floor is.

Can Xeth use Sense to locate the floor?

No.

Can he rely on the superhuman instincts of Intuition?
