Sure- if you can put that plan together in more detail.

Do, we have any plans of this jail? any idea of what it even looks like? what about this taxpayer, what does he have to do with all of this?

Well, that first one is a fair question.

In fact, you've not been able to get any plans or details of the actual jail. You understand it was adapted from the old mining complex there.

As for the tax collection- the pirate Empire beyond the Treganna Void is based upon its tax collection system- really just a bureaucratic version of paying tribute to the King.

Interfering with one of Emperor Rivas' tax collections (i.e. killing the collector) is the only fast way to commit a crime seriious enough to get you imprisoned on Datura.

In order to be thrown into this special jail, we have to publicly assassinate a tax collector. That's his only connection as far as we know.

So, is this an actual physical jail with a building and bars, etc, because the way I imagined it was that people were just left on the planet since they could never break out, otherwise I don't quite understand how there are no guards, yet the prisoners don't die of starvation in their cells.

Your understanding is that Rivas maintains control of the landing zone. No-one has ever escaped from Datura, but people HAVE been pardoned on Rivas (or his predecessors'😉 whim.

From the zone, the prisoners are placed inside the prison. The guards presumably provide food. But they never enter the jail.

Hmm, I suppose there is no way we could communicate with Rivas or offer him something he needs to get a pardon, in case we want to cross Adelmo? Sounds like a biiiiiig longshot. Should maybe keep it in the back of our minds though, perhaps the opportunity arises.

Well, about being captured, if this was the real world it would be easy to just anonymously call the police and tip them off as to where we will be, is that an option on Selene?

Yes, but the point it rather still WHY did you get captured, as it might seem apparent that you have the firepower to blast through half the army there. And an anonymous tip-off may be suspicious in of itself.

no, that would seem suscpicous.. a band of dark jedi, now all of a sudden turning themselves in? no, something that seems so crazy we would do it, and yet it would seem too tough for any regular criminal to do, that would be why we would be captured/surrender ect.

Xavier's basic theory is sound- the idea being that you had it all planned but something screwed up your escape route.

It doesn't necessarily need to be an anonymous tip off, we could use a civilian via persuade or subterfuge to tip the police off. We could also perhaps act as if we turned on each other? Or we could sabotage our own ship so it seems like our escape was rendered impossible.

Xaviers idea of Trax taking back the ship perhaps, we could get to the port and no ship there, and with an anonymous tip we get captured there by the army, since there is no way of us escaping it would be plausible to surrender, during the questioning we could make it known that we wanted to escape but that one of our guys crossed us and left us behind.

But remember, we may just be wanted dead, we may be 'shoot on sight' targets

Ok, well, lots of thoughts going around is good! I'll give a few days to get a full, coherent plan up.

we could just try and steal information about the jail, its my specialty

Being executed is why you cannot just commit any old crime. It is the killing of the tax collector that means they will submit you to the Emperor directly for justice, rather than just shooting you out of hand.

We could always steal a ship though...

Also, Haron. Since you have it, you might want to declare whether you are using Dreams or Foresight at all.

To write up some of the ideas we had:

We all go on Xavier's ship and land on Selene, probably posing as tax payers. We then proceed to stake out the situation a bit, in particularly decide how to get close easiest and what route to take back to the spaceport. Trax meanwhile will take off with the ship. We then kill the tax collector and a good bunch of his security, then make our way back to the port, on the way there Gallador or Rand or someone with Persuade will get some guy to alert the police with something like "You should tell the police you saw a suspicious group running away from the town center to the spaceport". When we arrive there we will hopefully be surrounded by police forces and "realizing" we don't have an escape route will surrender. I would say that in any further questioning we will claim that Trax was the guy taking care of the business end and that all we know is that someone wanted to the tax collector dead.

Then we go to prison....w000

Sure, but that is when being surrounded by dozens of guards now looks like something yoiu couldn't avoid even though you thought you could, and a good time to surrender.

Not bad. My concern there was that we could plow through them, but if we are confronted with enough firepower...

What reason are going with as our explanation? Are we trying to steal the Empire? Are we hired assassins?

Ush, will Galder's Reputation be a problem at all?

Well, like I said I think if we pretend to be hired assassins, but not actually in charge of the backend organisation we don't need to know much about politics there and still will come of as genuine.
