How much attention would we draw from the Republic if we masquaraded as Jedi standing up against the injustices of Emperor Rivas?
Why would we masquerade as Jedi? It seems like that might be an unfortunate conclusion people will draw, but I wouldn't really further that notion.
I don't buy your plan of being willungly captured like that- it would achieve nothing; the people would still be taxed and you would all be imprisoned. Your strike and escape must be believable.
Cutting through a giant packed crowd is extremely difficult.
Being Jedi is about as unbelievable as you can get- and far too easily checked.

Well, the way I imagined it it was supposed to be an inspiring example, not a changing strike. I don't think 10 people alone could beat a whole system, the idea I suppose was that there might be a underground organisation that views us as heroes that could help us when we try to get our sabres back. The way I figured is that the important thing is to kill the tax collector with a lightsabre, as that is what would piss the emperor off enough.
The surrendering part seemed only plausible since otherwise all our fights end with total annihilation, obviously. I guess we could work on the cover story some more. Perhaps there are actual groups on Selene that are unsatisfied and we could strike up some ties with them, I'm sure half of our group already did stuff like that as Jedi anyways 😛
I suppose we could actually try to escape and leave enough of a trail to get captured, say in the spaceport for example on our ships.

Frankly, we suck so badly at this sort of thing I'm not sure how useful planning to get caught would be... with out luck that'd lead to us escaping without a hitch and having to sheepishly come back.
Well, I guess Ush is telling us that winging it (though also my initial tendency 😛) won't cut it.
I think the idea of teaming up with already established groups on the planet might be of use. We obviously lack a lot of information to make a decent plan right now anyways.
I agree with Con, we should get on Selene few days before the taxing event - masquerading as merchants and bodyguards, for example- and gather more information. It would be more convenient to get the collector either before or after he ends his assessment and is on his way, since it would lesses the hindrance of being inside huge crowd.
