Well, Rianna doesn't have Fix-It at all, so I'm no good for that, short of simply smashing the case itself...

Are all of our lightsabers in different cases? Or are they mostly together? Because if we can get one case open and recover at least a few of our lightsabers, then we can simply cut open the rest of the cases...

They are together. Smashing is a quick option but pretty much an auto-fight!

It's tough glass-like stuff; it will need a good Strength roll.

I think we should rejoin the crowd, but stay at the very edge so that we can make our move and get back the lightsabers soon as Rand and Gallador and everyone make their entrance.

Well he needs to explain why he has no weapon.

Weapons break, things happen, and he had to bring it to the armory for a repair.

May be simpler if he is just Gallador's companion but should be doable either way.

Let`s go with him being the guard then. But he should have access to handgun at least.

No, if he carries a handgun the whole thing doesn't work. It has to be a personal guard.

I gave you guys a potential excuse for why a guard would be unarmed! Is it just too implausible or was it ignored entirely?

Rand will simply explain that his staff is being repaired after shorting it out during the rioting that took hold of Selene a few days ago. If they ask how he shorted it out, he'll explain that he electrocuted one of rioters to death with it.

That way it's a mildly threatening story that they would probably expect from one of their brutal superiors in the Emperor's inner circle.
