Ropes work less well when on fire.
What the heck would Rura want out of that old junk?
Time to head out then. The upper corridors are a panicked mess but there are more people and more issues as you approach the entrance- panicked crowds and guards starting to take control. What's your approach to get outside?
You know Intimidation might work better if most of us weren't crippling along right now.
Is there anyway that Xavier could pretend to be one of Rivas' personal guard and us Intimidate to get the guards to help us through.
Maybe not tell the guards so its not a lie but just go up and start issuing orders, so maybe they'll just be believe we are. I'm sure they are are in a state of chaos right now so it could work.
Edit:
Although looking at Edna she is a very social character I would say she could go up to the guards and lie our way through as part of Rivas' personal guard and that we are trying to get to medical attention, and if they don't help us when this is all said and done will hang them from their intestines if they don't cooperate.

Reasonable approach - I understand that Gallador cannot lie well due to injuries?

And I would bet since Gallador got cooked he is probably worse off than anyone.
What exactly do we need to get past in order to get outside? I think there may be too much panic going on out there for any of my persuasiveness to be particularly effective.
Oh yeah plus the fact that we don't LOOK like Rivas's personal guard. Do they have uniforms Ush? Can we steal them off of the corpses?
Xavier is correct; being downed rules you out of skill use until the whole f the action scene and consequences end.
You do not look like his guard, no; not at all. Though a good enough Lying roll would cover that in the panic, and a lot would depend on what pitch I am given for what you actually say.
A Lying Pool of 7 comes in handy... going with the old 'they went that way!' trick works because of your skill with Lying, the total panic of the situation, and that your general Star Wars guard is pretty dumb.
However, once you are outside, things start to get more difficult. The Emperor was, as ever, holding his audience on a live feed, and so the city saw what happened there. By the time you get outside,s someone has clearly got things organised and loudspeakers are blaring out your descriptions and a reward for catching you. Troops have moved in to surround the palace, though that's easier said than done so it;s not an unbreakable ring. Still, you are in no position to fight your way out and with so many of you in a bad state, sneaking is not easy either...
You can see a lot of things around. Some guard captain in a notable unfiorm is directing people on the steps leading to the palace- looks like an early candidate for the new Emperor. In amongst a group of black robed monk types, a man is calling out with a deep voice how the flames are punishment for the sins of avarice and all must heed this warning. A hover-lorry bearing the name 'Hiroshi Import/Export' is by the cargo entrance, and right now it appears workers on it are interpreting their job as exporting whatever they can steal from the palace and importing it into the lorry. Panicked citizens are all around; some are arguing at the steps near the guard captain, whilst three or four seem to have got into a panicked speeder smash not far away and tempers are frayed there as well.
Well I can see two possible things I would like to do possibly.
One being taking the hover lorry and bribing the man to get us out of there and driving us where we need to go. Or by trying to scare him if possible.
Another possible solution could be to try and tell if we can get the candidate of New Emperor to help by promising him to get him into power if he helps us? these guys are pirates after all.
