Are people interested in what is going on, or running away scared? Maybe it would be plausible to cause some of them to attack the guards. Does using Force to that effect cost an action?

We should focus on our current task first, I think. The crowd might help us if it starts to appear that we are winning, but we need to get there first.
Btw, if the bad guys get initiative and a Pikeman preoccupies Rand from running to Xavier's aid, then Rand will swap in and tap Focused Guard for Orthodox Guard and tap Reflection, then attacking the Pikeman.
If we get initiative, Rand is running to help Xavier and attacking guards, tap Reflection, nothing else.

Actually, scratch my move again. I have decided what I am doing.
Rand is going to swap Orthodox Guard out for Focused Guard.
Regardless of who gets initiative, Rand is going to tap Focused Guard and tap Reflection. He will nominate one of the guards as his ignored attacker.
If we get initiative, Rand is going to run to Xavier's aid and chop down guards.
If they get initiative and Rand is clear of the pikeman, he'll run to Xavier and chop down guards.
If they get initiative but a pikeman confronts Rand, he'll use his turn to violently hurl the Pikeman with the Force, spending a point on Fling and tossing the Pikeman not only away from Rand, but into the gun tower nearby.
3-6 gives initiative to them!
We have the same split as before with Rianna and Dak. 3 damage to Rianna, and Dak is missed due to his Ward.
At the east, the pikeman goes for Con, getting him for 4. The tower blasts at Relle, for 6. The three guards go for Gallador, but they fire like crap and only get him for 3.
Out west, the pikemen go for Galder again. scoring three damage each. Three guards shoot at Rand, whilst two guards and the tower shoot at Haron.
One guard automatically misses Rand due to his Focussed Guard tap, and promptly dies to his Reflection. The others score a 7 and a 9; the 9 would hit but Rand's guard tap has removed any 5s he rolls from the equation. Those both die to Reflection as well! Well, that was satisfying...
Haron gets a good start under fire, taking only 5 damage.
A pressed Xavier has everything gunning at him- but a second no result from an attacking Pikeman means he has destroyed another force pike! He takes seven damage from everything else- could have been much worse; his PS tap combined with Balanced Guard kept him going well.

Rianna easily kills her two guards... just in time to see five more arriving from the crowd.
Dak passes his Agility roll and leaps to the top of the tower, killing the two guards up there in an instant! That one is out of action. His Ward reminds me- I forgot to put your Force point totals in.
Overkill from Con and Relle- Con kills the pikeman with his blow. Relle can have an action in hand! Gallador promptly cleaves away two guards.
Galder kills his stubborn pikeman stone dead. Haron gets his first kill for the team- and is rather surprised to see that most of the other guards near him have just dropped dead having effectively shot themselves.
Rand pelts it over to Xavier, and brings two guards down, just as Xavier strikes down his disarmed opponent! No mercy there, I suspect.
