STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The White Tower of Halloy

Did the answer seem too quick or deliberate? Can I sense anything?

"Of course not." Denzral responded, lifelessly. "Perhaps you can do me a favor, and allow me a holonet transmission to Coruscant, so I can inform the council that while you and his highness have been most welcoming, and co-operative so far, I have yet to find anything that implicates the White tower, beyond the symbol on the craft."

(I knew I missed something, I was just reading this Role Play from the beginning, and I never checked in on the locales hit by the raiders prior to Dartta. Also I mixed up some information regarding the Cult, and the White tower, a mistake that seems to have cost me. Denzral has been making a fool of himself all along. Oops... I'm not very good at this lol)

As ever, Lothar Tull comes across as blank when you try to read him. He has a very concentrated mind, this one.

Your enemies (whoever they may be) obviously do not want to be found. You have a lead with the hangars and have not physically investigated. And something is not right about the prison.

"So, Master Jedi," the King says as food is being passed around. "Tell us a story."

Denzral raises and eyebrow, and looks at the meal being set out, before losing focus on the wall oppisite. "Perhaps,"

Tell them a story? I wouldn't know what to tell them, and neither does Denzral. What would be a story to them? I have unfortunately not read any novel material beyond wookieepedia, set before the Revenge of the Sith. And certainly not any of the recent novels. I assume Soapy has no Cyber intrusion tech and gear installed on him.

Soapy needs to be hooked up to things before he can hack them. He is pretty decent at such things.

Feel free to tell them anything you like; it can be entirely made up. The King is just interested in hearing about yourself.

I tell them the story of Darth Malik.

You start to get into it when Lothar stops you.

"I believe the King means something about yourself, my friend," Lothar says.

"Only a personal tragedy, sir." Denzral pauses, taking a deep breath. "I had not quite finished my apprenticeship when my Master had been assassinated. We had been investigating a Senator that had possible ties with the Hutts. During our investigation, we stumbled upon a strange murder in the Senators own courtyard. It was the senators attendant. Being inexperienced to a degree, I connected the murder to either a warning to us to back off, or a warning to the Senator from some source, Hutts or other. My Master agreed with me." Denzral took a sip of liquid from the goblet in front of him, and then cast a glance around the table. "The man had been killed in a very odd way and put on display in an almost ritualistic fashion, unbecoming of the Hutts; as you probably are aware, the vile Gangstas tended to prefer methods that were a little more straight forward. The body had had his eye's removed and replaced with coins," Denzral takes one of the coins in question, and holds it to the light before offering it to the King to inspect. "This is one of the coins we removed from the body."

(OOC: Not sure if this was what you mean, I am not a fan of creating a story that may not fit. I guess I've become lazy. Below are perhaps place holders for a future story regarding Denzral...

What I originally wrote after 'personal tragedy, sir'

"It was two years ago; I was en-route to begin a political investigation with the Governor of a planetary system known as Balner (originally named; Balnesh), a little know system a few light years off the Braxant Run, near the Lahara Sector. You may have heard of Agamar, perhaps? A common misconception of their culture being slow, and dim-witted has spread galaxy wide. Well, Balner is on the outskirts of that sector. The system consisted of five planetoids, and two asteroid belts, centered on a binary system, (although the stars were that close they appeared as one, except under close scrutiny). A bitter war between the two major nations on the planet, a war that had lasted for generations, suddenly ended. The rulers of both nations requested Republic aid to prevent a planetary disaster. I was sent in..."

And and alternate description from 'galaxy wide' onwards;

"Well Balnesh is a system of two populated worlds that existed in a symbiotic relationship, not only did the humanoid species of both worlds form a sort of coalition, in which technologies, and information was shared, but also the two planets were impossibly in orbit of each other around a trinary star group. The two species at first contacted each other by signals, and later by primitive space flight. Republic monitor stations detected that both species had developed an effective hyperdrive design that allowed the Republic to send a dignitary to make peaceful contact with them." Denzral took a sip from a glass of liquid. "It was deemed a Jedi would be appropriate for first contact, and I was chosen. It was one of my first tasks"😉

You could tell all those stories, if you so choose!

I will tell the story that has some relation to this investigation.

The King examines the coin as you hand it to him.

"May I see it?" Lothar asks.

"Go ahead," King Evand says, handing the coin off to Lothar.

Lothar studies the coin for a moment. His jaw tenses.

"This bears the insignia of the Cult of Necros," Lothar says.

Does Denz detect an emotional response from Lothar?

"Indeed," Denzral studies Lothar intently.

Actually... yes. For a brief moment, you catch a glimmer of something from him.

Fear.

Denzral went on to explain what the cult was, partially at least, but doesn't mention their supposed end. "Did you know of them?" Denzral asked Tully.

"I have heard of their legends," Lothar says.

"Who were they?" the King asks.

"Nothing you need worry about, my liege," Lothar responds.

Denzral will explain who they were (as much as he knows), to the King.

"Sounds like an unpleasant bunch..." King Evand says.

"Tricksters and villains," says Lothar. "Their ways are long dead."

"Perhaps," Denzral will take another sip of the drink. "The cult indeed has been believed long dead, a task of Jedi had found and destroyed them."

"And yet you have this coin from something far more recent," the King says, musing.

"Perhaps a mere copy-cat," Lothar says. "Someone echoing the methods of a more notorious killer..."

Your senses tell you otherwise, Denzral.

"Again, perhaps. But perhaps not." Denzral now awaits food. 🙂

It must be said- that coin itself is very old!

The feast is high in protein- an assortment of roasted meats, coupled with a varied of different breads from around the Galaxy. One of the six nobles in attendance explains to you that the Stad is the ultimate melting pot of cultures. All were intrigued by your story and the coin is being passed around after Lothar is done with it.
