Also, I'd sort of like you to expand on what you think of individual soldiers, because I get the impression that you don't think American soldiers are normal people, who joined the military due to a lack of employment or educational opportunities where they were from...

Dude how is a group of stormtroopers gonna contend with Vong warriors? How is the Empire gonna do a Jedi mind meld thing? Also, the Republic had the help of the Hapes consortium and the Chiss. Along with Galleon and the remnants of the Empire, if I recall correctly.

The Republic won because of the Jedi, plain and simple.

I realize that you don't frequent the SW EU forum, but it is an established canon fact that Vong themselves knew they couldn't take on the Empire.

I understand that. I know this.

The Vong viewed the Republic as a weaker opponent. They did not, however, know about the Jedi, the Chiss, or the Hapes Consortium. The Vong underestimated the Republic greatly.

If the Republic did not have the Jedi, the Chiss, or Hapes, they woulda gotten pwned hard.

The Republic, the Jedi order, the Chiss and Hapes >>> The Empire.

how could they not know about the jedi if the vong had scouts running around through the galaxy since the beginning of the clone wars?

the vong knew all about the jedi. they delbierately waited until the empire was gone, and it was only the republic and jedi, to attack. do you think they went into war blindly having no idea what they were going to fight against? wtf? they had spies knee deep in all of the major factions within the galaxy at the time that they attacked.

I don't just dislike American soldiers, I dislike all soldiers.

I don't really care about their individual stories, lifes rough and we can't all win it, I don't see the joy in signing your life away to go kill another working man in some other country, not my cuppa.

Its not a modern war on terror, when did Iraq commit a terrorist atrocity on America? If you're referring to the horrible regime of Saddam, USA sold the gas to him in the 80's to kill the Kurds didn't he? and I can remember Rumsfeld giving him a pair of gold spurs and giving him a high five.

OK, Vergere concealed her force powers and presence in the force while with the Vong, she DID teach the Vong about the republic and the Jedi, while gather intel on the Vong themselves. I Wookieepedia'd it.

So it's been proven that the Vong knew about the Jedi. I do recall, however, Tsavong Lah and others being surprised at how effective the Jedi were in battle. Obviously Vergere told them only what she wanted them to know.

So the Vong greatly underestimated the Jedi, did not count on the Chiss involving themselves. Nor did they count on Hapes joining in. Combine the Chiss, Hapes , the remnants of the Empire, then the Jedi with the Republic, and you have a force that is far stronger than the Empire.

So, Republic>>>>Empire.

how does that conclude that theyre superior to the empire?

and the vong had knowledge of the jedi because they had sent scouts into the galaxy during the clone wars, and had been gathering intel on them for years. its not a case of just one person giving them information like you believe.
