Well, I guess that depends if the thread starter intends that we use a peak Nidoking/Tyranitar or not.
I think that a Nidoking is going to be far stronger than a Sandshrew. Or, we can go the anime route and say that even a Sandshrew could top a Nidoking. But, if that's the case, then I think we should accept Togepi beating Tyranitar as well.
Indeed, and Tyranitar's landscape-altering ability to bust mountains with one hand is still vastly more impressive than Nidoking's tail being able to snap a telephone pole or topple a mere transmission tower. Tyranitar buries rivers as well...
Also, Nidoking lost to a Registeel in one episode, despite having the type advantage of being ground.

u didnt mention nido's diamond-piercing horn, increased speed, or steel hide...😬 Registeel has a s***load of defense & special defense, so thats understandable, a little Togepi? nah...btw i noticed u guys keep giving instances when nido was fighting a pokemon of legendary status & lost, but when we giv instances of ty fighting a non-legend(Togepi) & losing, u call PIS...

If it was Silver's Tyranitar then nothing says it was trained. Lance gave it to him and it didn't listen to Silver because he wasn't experienced enough for it.

1. Horn that can pierce diamonds < arms that can crush diamond.
2. Slight speed advantage = range/easy to counter its movement.
3. Steel like defence < mountain busting offence.
4. Those were our way of saying ''stupid pis moments don't count and games > manga.''Next?
u fail 2 say how ty could even utilize any of those advantages when he's severely outmatched in speed & dodging abilities. nido has the strength 2 pierce diamonds & doesnt weigh alot which will giv him a major speed & dodging advantage against ty, who weighs alot & is slower speed-wise & dodging-wise. one attack is all nido would need 2 finish ty & he definetely has the speed 2 do it. ty cannot counter what he cannot keep up with. 25% is not slight in any way especially since nido has OTHER feats, unlike ty. wow he destroys a mountain that cannot dodge & is made of rocks that r not hard 2 break & soil. u know mountains r like 50% soil right? DIAMONDS, that should b enough said right there! ty cannot crush diamonds, where does it say that in the dex? it said mountains, not diamonds, otherwise they would've put it, just stick 2 mountains plz. quality, quantity, it doesnt matter, a diamond is the hardest thing on EARTH, a mountain is...a mountain. ty cannot dodge nido's strikes, & he cant defend against it cuz he's not harder than a diamond. also y do the games override the anime when there has never been a real-time pokemon game? u cant make real-time deductions off of a turn-based game.😬
Getting tired of this speed thing, he's 25% faster then something with low speed. Know what that means? Thats not any speed to brag about. And no, speed =/= dodging, not with that bulk unless stated. To sum up there is no speed advantage worth mentioning as hes 125% a slow creatures speed and nothing shows him dodging anything.
50% soil.. where on earth did you get that idea from? Oh and:
