Hey, wanna know why they look different? 'cause nobody has to dodge them. It looks bad when Link and Mario are running down a road randomly dodging nothing.
Soooo, you're going for PIS then. I can see where your coming from with that but PIS doesn't work visually I'm afraid. You can't have lasers moving fast one moment and then slow the next without some explanation. If they do and there is none then we can do nothing but say that they aren't the same thing.
Also no it wouldn't. Seeing Mario and Link wiz around as superspeeding blurs of colour while the ground erupts in explosions would be patently Bad-Ass. Even I, who finds most Nintendo stuff incredibly gay would find my nipples sweeling up from the sheer manly awesome of it. Seeing them move at blatantly normal speeds and then trying to pass it off as fast however is nothing but a lie. A big stinking lie.

The lasers were never slow, only visible. Bad attempted deconstruction is bad.
Visual=Slow(er than bullets). That is the rule when we use our eyes to determine speed. If something is so fast our eyes cannot keep up with it (i.e. bullets) then it is in a certain level of speed. Something that is not too fast to be seen is logically slower than that QED.

No they didn't though. And anyway, intentions do not exist as excuses. Lucas wanted the Ewoks to show that you didn't need to be awesome to stand up to teh Empire but it still makes the Stormtroopers look like pussies for getting their asses kicked by teddybears. Intentions don't overwrite reality, and your interpretations of the creators intentions doesn't magically make those 'lasers' any faster than what we can see.

Then again, why am I getting so much shit for Ultimecia's bullet feat? If intentions don't mean shit, then clearly that scene is left up to interpretation.
You also appear to have talked yourself into a circle. My interpretations of the creator's intentions don't mean anything. But intention doesn't work as a reason, either. So what the **** are we supposed to think?

I avoid that little pit, by using logic: if it quacks like a duck, it's a mother ****ing duck. 😐 Hell, even when I argue against Kratos, I never claim the lightning he deals with is slower than normal lightning, even though it's both visible and demonstrably slower than normal lightning, because that would be ASININE. 😛 It IS Lightning, lightning the player needs to see. thus, it's as quick as lightning.
