'Star Wars – The Complete Saga', released on 12 September, will see all six films remastered and available on Blu-ray for the first time, but will also see James Earl Jones' voice replaced in a key scene by Hayden Christensen, in a drastic change to the Emperor's death scene. Some fans have cancelled their pre-orders of the box-set in response, so we thought it was the perfect time to look back at some of the most controversial changes that have been made in the past.http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/blog/article/252599/most-controversial-star-wars-changes-of-all-time.html
They're gonna buy it anyways, or at least get their hands on it one way or another.
It was the same thing with the DVD (horrible Hayden in ROTJ) and most people I know who said weren't buying ended up doing so

Send the article to Lucas... I'd really like to know how he feels. Prolly he'll say it's his film and he can do with it whatever he wants...
Which is entirely true, btw 😬

You can count me in on the people who refuse to buy the Blu-ray set.
Check back with me in a couple years and I still won't buy them.
list of changes for all six films including the PT

I'm going to take that with a grain of salt. There is no mention of the adjusted Han coming out of the carbonite scene. Or the inconcistancy of the wampa when we first see it's face for the first time when it attacks Luke (no horns). I'm still debating weather or not to get this set have to see if the pros out weigh the cons. I'm very tempted to find original hidef cuts (if possible) and splice the together with some of the new clips to make a final version for myself!

This paragraph sums up my feelings towards this release
But when I actually got the set in my hands, something changed. At pains of sounding like a sap, I started to feel that inner childhood giddiness bubbling up. And then, when I popped A New Hope into my Blu-ray player and heard John William's iconic fanfare over that familiar yellow text crawl, it hit me—I wasn't going to let any residual bitterness over George Lucas' endless alterations bother me. I was going to have a blast watching these films.
After reading this review, I'm eager to get my hands on this boxset. Like I said before, to me, the extras are worth the purchase, but reading that, despite changes and inconsistency with color, the OT looks beautiful and full of detail in this 1080p transfer, I just can't wait to see them myself
I'm bummed there's no Kamino section in the Extras though 😐
What pisses me off if that they want the Blu-rays to be the new standard for everyone to own...but they still aren't complete.
The deleted scenes previously on the PT DVDs are not included in this set. You get new deleted scenes, yes, but not ALL of the deleted scenes. Why they hell did they do this? Oh yeah, so they can release another copy of the movies in a couple years with "even more footage!".

Why would they waste space and time to put deleted scenes we already have on the DVD's? This way you can go back if want to see the deleted footage by popping in the DVD.

They want the Blu-rays to be the version for everyone to own. Why NOT add all the deleted scenes at once? The deleted scenes are not in HD or cleaned up like the actual films, they wouldn't have taken much space at all. The time to add these into the set would take no time at all.

I see your point for people who don't own any other set. But for those of us who own almost every set before this it's not needed.

Isn't it called the COMPLETE SAGA...Lucas always holds something back... Don't know why...
Money money money I've love in my tummy.
He's going to release them again. And we have the 3d coming out. But let's face it even if they weren't in 3d we would still pay to go see them in the theater.

I would gladly pay to go see these in theaters again, even the Special Editions. Being able to see the Saga with hundreds of other hardcore fans is an experience all in itself. I love my fellow nerds and their passion for that galaxy far, far away.
Im watching 'em now. Im up to AOTC... Impressed so far....even with TPM...way better version.
No Grain... lots of colour correction....Yoda looks so much better.
Odd touches throughout that pleased.
Another change that wasnt talked about in AOTC:
Added audio during Anakin's Naboo nightmare.... Schmi screaming his name sounding tortured....the scene thankfully now reads a lot less like he is wanking.
The Kamino fight and detail is awesome.
Every raindrop its own thing, not just a mess of texture.
Ahhhhhh well back to it...

How I envy you 😛
Given how my current financial situation is not panning out as I expected, I won't be able to get my hands on the set for a month or so 🙁 (priorities 😬 )
still, there are other methods 😈 , but I will end up buying it 😄
