is it confirmed on that on the bluray there are no more boxes around the ships in anh? of do i still have to turn down the brightness on my TV to remove the boxes? some one please confirm this. Thanks.
I would love to give you an answer, but my set is pretty useless without my bluray player at the moment.
The deleted scenes were surprising....
Some great stuff Id never heard of before....
There are lots of scenes with various rebel endor gear wearing crewmen shown manning the blasters and running repairs during the Endor battle... Scenes relating to the Death Star being turned on the Endor moon like the yavin moon in ANH.... the OT Outtake section ran for 40 odd mins from ANH beginning to ROTJ's end...!

Im watching it tonight....will let ya know.
Up to the Death Star escape/TIE ambush...
Absolutely no 'garbage matte' all through so far, 'cept on the afformentioned confrontation where it occurs on three short shots of the TIEs and it is WAY toned down..! (One even looks like a slight lense flair on one shot so twice, Id say)
Seriously, even at sharp contrast and brightness pumped to the max limit before blackness of space turns to charcoal, its only slightly noticeable (Hewn in a faint ass red)
On the whole very good, as I was riding the visual EQ pretty hard on colour, brightness contrast and with a slight decrease in the last two, I eradicated them with no detrimental effect to the picture. 🙂
You can see also the left eye of the TIE pilot too in the establishing Pilot shot through his mask!
(Just as earlier before Luke takes his Trooper mask off in the Jail cell with Leia, you can see Luke's face through the mouth slits!)
The Battle of Yavin be clean as a whistle.
(Making the Death/Star escape ambush the only incident of very subtle garbage matte in ANH.)
Look at Vaders left eye (Our right) as his TIE is spinning off after the Falcon intervention too....you can definitely see Prowse looking upwards briefly.
That movie looked bloody great.
Best Ive ever see/heard it.

Thank you so much!! That was one of the things that really bothered me with the 2004 DVD, was the death star escape. All I could see was red and green mattes around the ties and it was so obvious. I had to turn my brightness down from 58% to 46% and it made it quite dark but this was the only way to get rid of the mattes. I'm glad to hear they are pretty much gone.
I found it quite funny, specially Hader's Tauntaun... actually almost everything Hader did was hilarious
Emma was spot on as Carrie, and Samberg's delivery of Luke's line was great as well

The blasters and repairs 'on the Falcon', I forgot to stipulate, in my haste and enthusiasm.... was crazy seeing it with a full crew for a change...
