He has that other detonator, though....he'll be planning on using it probably later, or not.

Takuan, you launch yourself upwards onto the tree in a great leap (which no conventional enemy EVER expects...) and land in the branches. As the ship zooms past, you crouch down to make another jump, the branches cracking underneath you, but lasting just long enough for you to propel yourself upwards and grab desperately onto the ship's wing as it goes past...
You are now zooming along some twenty feet along the surface, barely grabbing onto the wing of a very sleek looking heavy fighter craft.
