I would be interested in seeing your argument, please and thank you.Soresu = most defensive form, user could just wait the fight out.
Makashi = designed specifically for dueling.
Vapaad = said to be the deadliest form.
Djem So = also designed for dueling.
Makashi = lacks power.
I agree with Vaapad.

Yes it is, but its not called the "Ultimate" duelling form! Whereas Makashi is described as exactly that. Its just pure fencing.

That doesnt mean it lacks Effectiveness. Like Soresu its more about effeciency than power.

Another combatant that would likely win is the Shien/Djem So user. Shien has been expressed to be good against multiple foes while Djem So is one of the most potent lightsaber dueling forms. It seems to be between him and the Soresu user.
Yep and Form 5 is the counter offensive to Form 3. Its why Anakin and Obiwan were so equal in skill, and looked like "complementary halves of the same warrior.."

Makashi is designed SPECIFICALLY for dueling, which is why it was falling out of favor by the time of the movies. Djem So was still popular, implying that it must've also been designed with blasters in mind.

A hit with a lightsaber is potentially lethal regardless of how much power you use. Although it is true that you would need power to be more effective against an enemy's defenses. Makashi is still a very effective dueling form.

I don't know about Vaapad. On the one hand, yeah its pretty f'ing great, able to boost Mace Windu into Palpatine levels of ability, buuut it just too hard to use. Out of its 3 users, only mace was able to successfully use it. Its the strongest form, but its offset by the danger it brings on the user. Thats a huge negative in my mind.
I'd probably say Soresu personally. Its just reliable and good for any situation.

Was it? Who else used Djem So apart from Skywalker in the PT era?
I beleive Form 5 was popular, which consists of Shien and Djem So. Shien would of course be popular as its used against multiple oppnents and deflects blastar fire back to the opponent.
But Djem So is the variant of Form 5 specifically for saber duelling according to anything iv read up on it.
Perhaps Form 5 masters tended to master both variants of the form.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there.
FROM THE PRIVATE JOURNALS OF MACE WlNDU
I had come to Nar Shaddaa to track down exotic-animal smugglers who had sold attack-trained akk dogs to the Red laro terrorists of Lannik-and Depa had followed me to the Smugglers' Moon because she had suspected I might need her help. How right she was: even together, we barely survived. It was a terrible fight, against mutated giant akks for the amusement of the Circus Horrificus patrons-But remembering it in the jungle, I found that my eyes filled with tears. On that day in Nar Shaddaa, she showed me blade work that surpassed my own; she had continued to grow and study and progress in Vaapad as well as the Force.
Mace is known to be overly humble and rate people's abilities better than his own, even if it is not true.
"Mace laced his fingers together land squeezed until his knuckles crackled like blasterfire. 'Skywalker is arguably the most powerful Jedi alive, and he is still getting stronger.'" -ROTS
""I am called a great swordsman because I invented a lethal style; but who is greater, the creator of a killing form-or the master of the classic form?"
"I'm very flattered that you would consider me a master, but really-"
"Not a master. The master," Mace had said." -ROTS

1 - Note how he used arguably. Arguably, he is.
2 - Obi-Wan was the master of Soresu.

When was that? Near TPM? Between TPM and AOTC? Between AOTC and ROTS? Because Mace's abilities increased from movie to movie, especially in the 20 or so year gap between TPM and AOTC. In TPM he was stalemating Qui Gon (or maybe before TPM) in spars, and by ROTS he was beating Palpatine.
