This has nothing to do with:

B) McClane has not had "constant" support. IE someone wasn't there to pull his ass out of the fire in every scenario or to solve/conquer every challenge.

Youre forgetting DH 1 where he killed all those terrorists with no support until the very, very end. 🙂

And Die Hards 2, 3 and 4 where he was similarly unassisted in combat.

The stuff that McClane gets help with is like directions and stuff, mostly. 🙂

Not anywhere near as often as Riggs. (Who gets saved routinely by his duly appointed full time life saving partner and by his wife..)
