Is anyone interested in Star Wars the Old Republic?

Pretty much. They call me Darth Corleone.

While you're awesome Ares, I damn near fell asleep watching this. I hate rpgs. About the only entertainment was HK's sarcasm.

Anyway, what a ****ing disapointment.

I agree. I'm hoping they dramatically change the full version of this terrible game but if not, bioware has undone what the KOTOR games did.

RIP buddy...hopefully Bioware faces an insurrection of epic proportions that forces it to bring back Revan and give him a proper farewell.

Such as?

The one that defeats the sith emperor?

The one that defeats the sith emperor?

Why?

He's the one that went to fight it alone, the one who held them at bay for 300 years, the real question is why have anybody else be responsible for their defeat?

Because the idea of one man singlehandedly toppling an empire like that would require the writer to be a fanboy of epic proportions and an all around hack. 😬

You mean like what happened at the end of ROTJ? 😐

I agree with Beefy (wtf?!), Revan deserves it.

I guess ROTJ stands for something other than Return of the Jedi in this context, because that's not what happened. 😬

IIRC Vaders the only guy who killed the Emperor in that movie. Luke sure as shit wasn't that effective.

Vader singlehandedly toppled an EmpireEmperor if we're talking about literal action. But that decision was the culmination of a series of decisions and events; suffice it to say that Vader would not nor could not have done so without Luke. Likewise, it required the heroics of Lando Calrissian, Wedge Antilles, Admiral Ackbar, etc. to destroy the Death Star, as well as Han Solo and Leia among others to disable the generator. There were many people who directly contributed to the victory at Endor.

I doubt Beefy was thinking that Revan would just walk in there alone and casually off the guy. Nor would it just happen. I'm reasonably certain there would be 'a series of decisions and events' leading up to it.

Really what he was getting at is that Revan ****ing bled to fight the Emperor. He deserves to be the person to finish off the man he's been fighting for 300 years.

And he can do that without being the one to pull the trigger. Yoda and Obi-Wan both died before their plot came to fruition. The saga is rife with examples such as these, as is the real world. FDR died before seeing the end of the Second World War, despite spending years and countless lives fighting the likes of Hitler. Why should Revan be some sort of cosmic exception?

The point that BioWare is trying to get at, it seems, is that this shit is bigger than Revan.

That is not what Bioware is getting at. 😐

That would be; 'oh look its revan you like revan revans a badass now u kill revan now u a badass now u keep playing and go kill the emperor even though it turns out not to matter worth a shit ohhhh look at the shiny keys!'

Bioware's been getting at that since the moment it became canon that Revan and Malak were nothing but pawns of the Emperor. The epic, vaunted Revan was suddenly downgraded from the infallible badass to ultimate pawn in a single stroke. 😐

Exactly. What's the difference between a fanboy and a hater btw?

Actually nothing suggests that Revan was really his pawn at all. Though that would explain why as soon as his memories come back he rushes to go fight the guy. You know, cuz he was just a pawn. 🙄
