Is anyone interested in Star Wars the Old Republic?

The armor system is normal. I keep upgrading when I complete missions. I am unsure of the restriction you're talking about because I had no problems. I'm now a sith sorcerer and I was just initiated into the Order of Revan. According to the dialogue, their lack of knowledge goes from not knowing what sex Revan was, to believing Revan killed the emperor and has sat on the throne for three centuries.

Wait so you're a Sith inquisitor and a sith pureblood(the naga sadow breed with tentacle like beards)?

Thats strange i was always on the website and they never mentioned pureblood was avalible for the inquisitor and only for the sith warrior. That sucks because i wanna roll a pureblood.

Anyways been reading this thread, yeah seems like they do screw up with continuity(like the tombs looking quite different from kotor, disregarding kotor2) but while it is a little bothersome ill just enjoy the game for what it is when it comes out.

Yea maybe those rules applied to beta testing. This isn't beta testing anymore. And yes, all these tombs have magical new layers in them with new secrets, as if the sith and Jedi of the past millennium lacked searching skills.

Well i dont have anything to say about that. Korriban in JA was VERY different from KOTOR, im surprised theres no explanation why the tombs are different from kotor, could be that in KOTOR only a small portion was discovered but without an explanation who knows.

Plus it was bioware who made and designed kotor so i dont see why they dont come up with an explanation.

Thank god they changed their mind about Sith pureblood sorcs. Now I can make one.

Is a Sith Sorcerer supposed to be the equivalent to a Jedi Consular?

Iunno?

I guess Sith Sorcerer equals Mage in the whole Warrior-Mage-Rogue standard in RPGs?

Sith Inquisitor is equal to Jedi Consular. Both are force-based primary classes. You pick them at the start of the game as your class.

Sith Sorcerer is equal to Jedi Sage. Both are force-based advanced classes. You can specialise in them later when you reach level X or something.

Basically yes they're very mage-like, focused on using force-attacks.

Ah, all right.

I don't like how Bioware simplified all classes into the Warrior-Mage-Rogue construct in later games after the Baldur's Gate series.

Well its an MMO, so its already pretty complicated with the 'DPS, healbot, tank' mechanics.

Hmm, perhaps. I'm still waiting for the day they will remake Baldur's Gate (especially BG2) with today's graphics, while keeping every element from the original game.

You realize that Baldur's Gate was based on DnD 2nd edition, right? And that it was already outdated when the game was released? 3.0 and 3.5 became the norm when later titles were released. For example, Icewind Dale II was 3.0, while Neverwinter Nights II was 3.5. The new Neverwinter title coming out is going to be 4.0, which makes me want to cry blood.

Strictly speaking, things weren't oversimplied like you suggest, but gameplay mechanics always end up having the infamous trilogy of warrior/mage/thief because non-niche classes like bards and druids suck in PvP scenarios.

Meh, it's more DPS/Tank/Healer than anything. And this is because this is the tried and true method of classes for MMOs. GW 2, however, might shake things up.

The new Neverwinter title coming out

HOORAY!!

is going to be 4.0

must... contain... sadness... as well... as... Lonely Centurion!

What's wrong with 4.0?

(know nothing about D&D)

They Wowified DnD with 4.0.

Of course, I've long moved on to GURPS.

It's very cut down, made to appeal to mainstream audience. I realize that some rules in 3.5 were excessive (but I mainly ignored those. Like foot speed stats or encumbrance) but 4th edition is like going from a Bioware RPG masterpiece of any kind to Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

HOORAY!!

Ye be warned.

4e is often derided as too-watered down for the masses. DnD elitists (and a shit-ton of fans of 3.5 that are just calcified into position without even the veneer of superiority as an excuse) think that there have been too many concessions. For example, I've been told that the grappling rules are usable. OUTRAGEIOUS!

Q: Is an Internet connection required to play Neverwinter?Top
Yes.

Welp. That's the end of that chapter.
