He's a better martial artist, but I'd hardly call him a more accomplished fighter.

Goku isn't most people. In terms of a HTH fight, Val would destroy most.

In pure skills Val eats Goku. Goku has superhuman stats, most manga chars get superhuman stats, strength, speed etc. through training or ki amping.
