Harry Potter Magic versus the Force (Army thread).....

If you were to put Yoda and Dumbledore in a steel cage and ask them to kill each other (using only their Magic/Force-based powers/ no lightsaber duel), Dumbledore would use his fire spell to char grill Yoda. Yoda has no defense whatsoever to counter this attack. Nothing he has done in any of the 6 Star Wars films says he can defend himself from this. Hell, Dumbledore could light the ring on fire and then appartate away, since Wizards have shown the ability to do this at will

Mhm, Wizards win steel cage battles versus Jedi every time.

Nah, I can handle the truth just fine. I've been preaching it the whole time.

So, as I said earlier, do the Wizards beat the Jedi?

And HP magic has vastly superior screen feats.

You see, I've backed up everything I have claimed with video evidence.

Lestov summed it up quite nicely:

the Force probably is the stronger power source, but as the old saying goes, "a tool is only as strong as the man who wields it". If just comparing the power levels of the sum total of the energy sources, the Force would come out stronger, but, as far as I've seen in the 6 Star Wars films, they can not utilize this massive power to the level they need to replicate the feats the Wizards have produced in their respective films. Yes, Yoda can use telekinesis, and sense events not in his immediate presence, but how can that compare to a wizard who can conjure matter out of thin air and also transmute it, and teleport at will, both of which without much effort.

If all you got is "the wizards were dead on page one", don't waste my time. You're outgunned and outclassed. Just like the Jedi are.

Here, this might help:

No, but they're required for spells.

No, not in the movies. Movie Jedi are incredibly handicapped against... anyone, really. EU Jedi would f*ck the wizards up.

There are plenty of non wand spells.

Depends on the wizard/Jedi. Movie Jedi are what counts most, they are the vision of George Lucas. EU? It's ****ing ridiculous what they can do. And even then, the wizards have apparition and avada kedavra.

I've been reading, and (once again, just stating my opinion), and I've been finding some troubling issues, mainly the usage of the death Star. Was the Death Star utilizing some kind of Force energy? IIRC it wasn't. Thus I don't think such a weapon should have any place in whatsoever in this fight

It doesn't. It's technology, not the Force. Plus it's not in the OP.

You mean the flimsy, unreliable precog? Nah. Nothing in SWverse, movies or EU included, will keep a wizard from apparating.

Was there any instance of this "I can see anything I want to from the future" precog used in the 6 films? And if they did have such precise precog, why did the Jedi/Sith go through such hardships instead of being able to evade them?

Nope. But they will foresee what the wizard is about to do and where they will go. They'll "see things before they happen. That's why (they) appear to have such quick reflexes. It's a Jedi trait."

Wizard disapparates and as soon as they reappear, their windpipe's crushed.

Battle precog:

Bingo.

Yeah but they also have 30 mins prep time...

In which full precog gets used also. 🙂

Ahhhhhhhhhh goes back to correctness and cornflakes. 🙂

No, your saying that the Force negates Magic is speculation.

Coruscant. Jedi against Wizard. Wizard hits Jedi with Avada Kedavra. What happens?

Actually its based on science theory and onscreen feats/definitions. 🙂

Well in an ungimped situation, the Jedi kicks his ass before the spell is finished.

Hold on there! Did you know that you would have to eat 17 bowls of cornflakes to equal the nutritional value of just one bowl of Total cereal?
