Can't wait.

Character drama aside, I'm having a harder and harder time suspending my disbelief about Walkers. Especially after seeing World War Z, these slow ass rotten zombies just don't seem like a credible threat anymore. 4 seasons in and they're still big trouble. Also, just how many are there in that relatively secluded wooded area of the southeast? You'd think they'd have depleted the reserves by now.

to be fair, the walkers are always migrating from one area to another in search of sustenance, but yeah, the walker army is portrayed as nigh-limitless in TWD.

as for the TWD zombies being slow, that is more realistic imo. they are dead... their muscle, bone, tendons, ligaments, etc. are rotting away. aside from unlimited stamina, none of their physical stats *should* be boosted by the zombie virus. if anything, they *should* be weaker/slower than a normal human.

The trailer's only available in the U.S though.

This would be a better preview clip for everyone to see:

Realistic corpses, yeah. Realistic threats? No. Not after like a year of constantly dealing with them. They've become so soft and supple that a light jab with a dull metal stick passes straight through their heads. That's not worrisome, that's comical.

But we're supposed to believe these hardened, armed, experienced zombie killers still view these things as threatening and worrisome. My suspension of disbelief is taut and getting tauter.

i don't think they find 1... or even a dozen zombies threatening anymore. it's when the zombies swarm in waves of hundreds that the team starts shitting their pants.

either way, all the group really needs is berserker rick from last season back. the dude solo'd dozens of zombies in tight quarters like the fodder they are. 👆

The second you stop seeing zombies as a threat, you'll be bitten and turned into one. A world like that, you've got to be on your toes at all times IMO.

Hmm... the trailer made it seem like another slow-moving season. Hopefully they'll move away from the Prison after a few episodes..?

And of course the zombies are still a threat. In the proper numbers they are extremely dangerous.

On a related but unrelated note:
I rewatched season 1/episode 1 of TWD the other day. I'm not exaggerating when I say that TV really doesn't get much better than that.

Truly the perfect episode.

I've long thought that too. As much as the rest of the series has been a hit-and-miss, that first episode was f*cking wonderful. Hooked me instantly.

Couldn't agree more. As a whole, the series has been pretty good thus far. However, no single episode comes close to the pilot, in terms of overall enjoyability.

Tbh, I'm not sure that any episode from any series is as good as s1/e1 of TWD. I honestly hold it in that high of esteem. It is 1 solid hour of perfection.

^Let's wait and see what happens in the upcoming season. It's not always set in stone.

I'm not a precog irl, so I was only comparing s1/e1 to the episodes released thus far. 👆

How do you know for sure?

mmm

Very good question.

Got invited to a dinner party for the premiere. I was gonna not watch this show anymore, but free food. So, bring on S4. Or at least episode 1.

awecreepjam

So the group I watched with insisted on auditioning for the straight-to-Wal-Mart-bins D-list parody of Mystery Science Theater. I was reminded of why I watch shows alone that I really enjoy. Fortunately, WD isn't a must-see for me, but at least I got some food out of the deal.

It's been a year and they still can't stop Beth from looking like Luna Lovegood.

What was the deal with that Walker-like looking woman? Was that her boyfriend or baby whom she wanted to feed the boar/Rick to?

She said it was her husband I think.
