Xeth reaches for his lightsaber while the Champion takes a whack at him. One 5 is a miss thanks to Balance, so Xeth stays clear.

More Maltites chasing you, Xeth.

Vera-Kin opens fire on the Maltites as they close in on her Wookiee friend, lining up neat and tidy shots with her tiny pistol.

I'll shoot the ones closing in on Ver and I. We haven't dealt with them yet unless I'm forgetting something.

Bodyguard on Vera, she may be exposed without her saber.

Can't use Blade Schticks while using a pistol, I'm afraid!

Oh. Alright then, good luck Vera. Maybe I should switch back to my saber to keep us defended while Vera shoots?

We'll see how it goes this round. Shoot away!

Though Vera-Kin will shoot the Maltite coming at her instead.

Xeth will swap CG for Charge and will perform a somersault over the Champion, slashing down across his shoulder before moving past him and to Warehouses 4.

Evens for the third time this fight... switches back to you!

Vera-Kin and Tilulla whirl around and open fire. Tilulla is a little more experienced with firearms than Master Vera-Kin; she drops her target with four successes. Vera-Kin not so great and only rolls one success, giving the Maltite cause to duck but not much else.

Navir actually finishes off the Maltite that Vera failed to end; he recognized that you were vulnerable.

Barker snaps a Maltite's neck, then he and Navir take some damage.

Xeth performs his somersault attack and gets clear after inflicting harm on the Champion. The Champion gives chase and actually lands a pretty solid blow on Xeth for 5 damage!

As with Vera and Ti, you feel wary about moving ahead.

Hmm... do it anyway. Xeth will spend a point on Dash to race ahead, using Balance/Coordination as he puts everyone in the dust.

Hmm... Vera will put her pistol away but not advance yet.

"I sense trouble ahead," Vera-Kin comments to Tilulla. "See anything, do you?"

"Nothing for now," I say as I scan the area. Rexx, can I scan for lifeforms to choose a route without blowing a force point? I feel like I should know how this stuff works by now, but I still forget occasionally.

We should maybe try to circumvent the immediate area in front of us. If we sense danger, it's likely a trap of some sort.

Sense would do it! You do sense more people ahead of you. Vera-Kin, being more practiced with the Force, can sense they are in the buildings.

Moving forward is more conceptual. The idea is that you respond to potential danger appropriately (i.e. schtick taps and powers).

Hmm. Well, what do you think, Digi? Vera-Kin has a lot of powers at her disposal, I don't want to make you go first or even with Vera if you don't want to. Or we can delay so that all four of us go together.

Hell, I'd be willing to spring the trap, but you may be right that you're more equipped for it.

I want to wait for the others, but Ti wants to plow ahead. She's quite insistent. Your choice to wait for our friends or go first, but I'm coming either way.

Let's do it then. If you have anything like Coordination or Balance, you should get it running.

Vera-Kin will move up, using Coordination and Balance and Lifting to protect herself from anything coming her way.

I need to know if Ti is doing anything defensive or sticking to her guns (literally) and lending fire to the rear.

How are our allies doing? If they seem fine, I draw my lightsaber and join Vera. If they're struggling, I lay down gun fire but stay with Vera.

I use Coordination, which I have, as I move forward. Thanks V. Oh, speaking of....

"Can I call you Master V?" I ask, amused, as we inch our way forward into what we believe to be a trap.

Initiative to you! And a refresh! Ti and V put their blasters away and ignite their lightsabers... immediately going on the defensive as the trap is triggered! Archers had been lying in wait for you, launching arrows with tips crafted from scrap metal.

Ti's Coordination keeps her safe as she cuts arrows out of the air with some simple flourishes and evasive actions, but Vera-Kin takes the more Masterful route. With Lifting, her Defense is raised to 5, and the arrows simply miss when she raises a hand to deflect them.

Navir and Barker are clear to move!
