STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Started by Digi69 pages

I haven't forgotten you Vera!

What are you doing again though?

😛

Vera- they want to know why they need your help.

-

Xeth and Ti- you are on the run! Laserfire starts coming your way as soon as you bolt. They aren't close enough for it to be a serious worry just yet. They soon will be.

You arrive at the pipes! They have been maintained as well as anything can be on this planet. You are not sure what it contains.

So it's pipes or fight our way back out. I still vote pipes, regardless of us not knowing what they contain. We move inward, trying to shake our pursuers.

You can follow the pipes two ways- toward the base or away from it.

Tilulla is voting toward. How come?

I want to hear Ti's reasoning before I give my thoughts.

I, well, I didn't realize it was two ways. 😮

What does away get us though? Still getting pursued and no chance of finding out much. Or would it be suicidal to head inwards? I was thinking we might kill/escape our pursuers and get back to sneaking.

I don't know how much opposition we'd get. Probably a great deal, unless we can lose our pursuers (or end them before anyone else shows up) and sneak in.

Opposition will be great. However, if you deal with the patrol quickly, you might be able to pull off sneaking. The base will now be on alert, unfortunately.

We'll try to end it quickly then, and make a break for it if they get away to raise more of an alarm.

How many are there?

Since I'll be gone the rest of the week, if Xeth agrees to that course of action:
Forward Guard
Block
Bodyguard (Xeth)
...tap Forward Guard 1st turn and swap in for Focused Guard. That should allow combat to continue for a bit until I get back. I will defer to Xeth if decisions must be made, and will be back Monday.

Just waiting on Xeth, then!

I will note that Bodyguarding Xeth does little good if you have no running defense. Unless you wish to use Block for that?

Well, we're not running yet, yeah? We're trying to kill these ones quickly so more don't come. I attack the closest, tap Forward Guard.

I meant running in the sense of operating rather than actual running.

Oh. Lol. Ok, yeah, use Block for that. I still tap FG.

If there's a Supermook for Ti to tap that on, she should.

Xeth is going to start blasting away at the droids, moving in close with Ti so that he gets her protection and so he can blow them away at close range.

CC ES CG

No word from Vera... so let's get this going!

The patrol is small and comprised of Super Battle Droids and red-uniformed men, obviously working for Tarne. With them are two battle droids with red markings and large packs with hoses strapped to their backs and wrists.

Rather than waste Tilulla's Forward Guard tap on a mook (and it is a waste- you only need two successes to kill one, you don't need twenty plus dice to get that), I will use it on a Flame Droid! They are Supermooks and take damage like you do.

Tilulla rolls 25 dice on her attack, reduced to 22 as the Flame Droids are programmed to handle well at close range. 14 successes is 20 damage to her target as she cuts through something important with her blade.

Xeth is right behind her. Having not specified his targets, he shoots at a soldier and a droid each. He fluffs his roll on the soldier but blows down a droid!

As this was a straight assault rather than an ambush, there is return fire! However, the men are falling back to cover and do not join in. Tilulla's Bodyguard actually proves effective for Xeth, who is not hit! Ti herself takes a hit for 4 damage.

Bad news from the Flame Droids, though. Close Quarters Gunman does not provide extra dice for flamethrowers, fortunately. However, Tilulla still gets set on fire by one for 6 damage! Xeth takes a hit for 6 damage as well but manages to avoid being set on fire due to an amazing Agility check.

Ti will take the base damage of the flamethrower every turn until extinguished...

Ah! I'm on fire?! Can I find some cover and stop/drop/roll? I'd rather avoid the base dmg.

You can put yourself out. It will take your turn, however.

I guess I have to, eh?

I try to find some cover as I do it. Xeth, let's focus the flame guys?

"We have information about Tarne's droids," Vera-Kin says, "and we are would be a valuable asset to your leader. We want to take down Tarne and fast. We think Wazo Kell would be interested in doing such as well. Right?"

Xeth will move into cover with Tilulla as she tries to pat herself out, continuing to blast at the droids that have remained out in the open.
