It should be completed now. Link under my signature.

Xeth will move cautiously into the corridor, keeping his senses open (both natural and supernatural) so that they don't run into anyone they don't want to.

We're also looking for something important to destroy. Stealth is first priority, but that's the secondary objective.

We did just sneak past two power generators!

Yeah, but heavily guarded. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to take them out right now. We don't have an escape plan. Maybe a target for when we come back with allies? If we can shut down power, the assault will be far more successful.

I say we look for ways out at this point. A way in + a target is a lot.

I agree. Time to get gone.

Xeth will take a peek out whatever doorway is at the end of this hall. He wants to know where they currently are so that they can start planning their escape from here.

"You have speeders?" Vera-Kin says. "I thought technology didn't work well on Respite, because of the atmospheric disturbance."

"It requires constant maintenance," Wazo Kell explains. "But we keep things running. In any case, we don't have anything heavy."

The door at the end is open as well. Crouching in the door frame, you are able to look out into the main yard of the fortress. It is dusty and dry, the ground cracked and littered with scrap and debris.

It is teeming with super battle droids marching back and forth around the yard, in formation. Some of the modified battle droids you were informed of are mixed in with them. They are receiving orders from some of Tarne's uniformed men, one in particular on a podium.

"Perhaps our goal should be to lure Tarne away from his fortress, then," Vera-Kin says. "Surely this acquisition of his will make him more confident."

"Pfft, not likely," Wazo Kell says. "He hasn't stepped up his assaults any."

Barker suggests that he's worried he'll be vulnerable against both factions against him outside of the fortress.

"Why?" Navir says. "The Maltites aren't a threat whatsoever."

"They can be," Wazo Kell says.

Navir scoffs at that.

Would a distraction work? Or timing their patrol routes with hiding in the scrap metal? Doesn't sound easy.

We could try sneaking out with one of the patrols, using their exit from the fortress as our way out through a main door.

Are we going for a stealthy escape or does it not matter to you, Digi?

You wouldn't get far on foot if you chose to be blatant about your escape.

I guess I'd prefer stealthy, and Rexx's warning seems to suggest that. Not sure we'll have a choice to fight or not eventually though. We should've taken guard uniforms earlier, played like Han and Luke in Episode IV.

What if we're not leaving on foot? Maybe the shipment had STAPs or something like that? It'd be a grand exit if we found something to fly out on but I know they don't have ships on this world.

Speaking of which, my ship will be really handy in any fight on this planet...

Now that you mention it, Xeth... you haven't seen any flying around on patrol, but there are some STAPs parked here in the yard, just behind the observation deck that Tarne's officers are instructing the droids from.

"Any potential for relations with the Maltites has been fumbled anyway," Vera-Kin says. "They won't help."

What if I provide a loud distraction, you run to the ship, then clear the area around me so I can hop on?

"They never would," Wazo Kell says. "I've tried that before. Their leader is a nutjob."

-

That would certainly make Xeth's job easy! I'd be willing to accept pitches for that if Xeth wants to take that route.

Vera-Kin will leave that subject for now.

"I think maybe using some sort of bait for Tarne would cause him to send forces away from his fortress," Vera-Kin says. "Maybe a military target that he often tries to take from you?"
